  1. so similar concept.

our church is currently meeting in the elementary school gym on Sunday, it is my understanding I cannot carry there as it is still a school.

Later this year we will be transitioning to our new church which will also have a private school on site, I was hoping that since it will be a private school I would be able to carry to church on Sunday but reading this makes me think otherwise?

  2. depends on what you are looking for.  If you want a real safe with fire protection and substantial theft protection this is not going to be something "modular" that you can easily move, these are usually ~1000lbs empty.

If you are looking for more of a locking cabinet that will keep honest people out of your stuff or protection from kids you have more options.

I have used Fast Box and Vaultek long gun safes for quick access and there are a plethora of lighter duty "safes" out there that would fit the bill from any of the major retailers under 500lbs.

  3. They make some folding hinges that you could mount across a couple studs and get some collapsible legs and you could build yourself a pretty solid bench that you could fold out of the way when not in use.  I used some to build a miter saw stand a few years ago and it has held up pretty well.  Could use 3/4" plywood as the top and build some shoes with bolts to mount your press to the top if you were still worried about it.

Been looking at the Holosun PID......any feedback

While I for the most part have faith in holosun products, I don't see a huge advantage on being a "newish" adopter of the PID when the Streamlight TLR-1 HL offers very similar performance at a comparable cost.  This is even more relevant on a firearm you are looking to use for defense.

That being said the reviews I have seen on the PID looked good.

  5. Have Streamlight TLR-1HL on my "house guns" G19 and G17 and streamlight TLR7-SUB on my carry P365.  As far as concealability items on the slide end of the gun don't seem to cause printing issues as they are under the waist band, the printing seems to come from the grip.  For this reason all of my carry guns have lights and all of my duty/house guns have lights as well.  Simple math is you are in the dark ~50% of the time, I would rather be able to have the ability to identify what I am shooting at with certainty.  Streamlight is a proven brand with plenty of real world experience that I trust for a pistol light without shelling out $250+ for a surefire. For the $100-150 I think it is worth the expense, also keep in mind that holster choices will be limited with a light and even more limited if you pick a less common light (Olight, Crimson Trace, Inforce, etc.)

What type of pistol are you looking to put a light on?

Most here probably aren't on Reddit but they have a Gun Accessories For Sale (GAFS) subreddit that is flooded with all types of gear. I've bought and sold a dozen different optics on there. If you don't like it you can usually get most if not all of your money back.

For now I've settled on an Eotech EXPS-2 and a Trijicon LPVO.

GAFS is the quick road to bankruptcy!  However it is a great place to find used gear and I feel generally pretty safe dealing with high flair users for transactions.  I would be very hesitant to spend hundreds of dollars on a new user without going through paypal G&S, however had no issue spending money on a high value item going through one of the mods as a proxy.

If you wait for a decent deal you could pretty easily get your money back if you don't like whatever you end up with.

  7. I am also a right hand/left eye shooter, I find that a pistol mounted red dot is easier for me to utilize vs iron sights for some reason.  I also would think you will have a hard time find holsters for the rail master or the TLR8 if this is going on a carry gun
