Geez, page two and this hasn't even been posted yet.  TGO is slipping and falling prey to Chinesium products.  🤮

    1st Pick: Cloud Defensive
Handheld Lights Archives - Cloud Defensive

    2nd Pick: Modlite
    Handheld Lights – Modlite Systems

Both of those are lights for people who give a damn about having good tools and don't mind paying more for better quality kit.  If you shop purely based on price, don't bother clicking the links because it might give you a heart attack.

I'm going with David on this one.  I had been carrying the streamlight microstream USB 24/7 for years and just dealt with the fact that they clip sucked and I would lose a few each year, also that the mode would be a crapshoot when I hit the tailcap.  I have been carrying the cloud chicro since they released them a few few months ago, much better clip and better mode interface.  Also utilize cloud on all my rifles and they take a beating right next to the flash hider and keep on trucking.

Here's something to think about : Glock is releasing the 25 and 28 next month. They have not been available to citizens here in the US since they came out in the 90's. How about trying a 380 that we know will work and not have "growing pains"  and "bugs" like the newer 380's out there ? The 25 and 28 have been functioning fine for over 25 years and have all the bugs worked outta them.  yes the 380 cartridge is small and weaker but it would be neat to have one and see how Glock made them into a blow-back type design.

These are 19 and 26 size guns but with a weaker cartridge that is more expensive to shoot? Perhaps I am missing something but curious what the value of these would be outside of a lower recoil?

I have the P365 xmacro and really like it. I to would have preferred a full length barrel minus the comp, but as TGODavid said, it works well. I have the Holosun 407k on mine.

For carry ability, I did go with the Wilson XL grip, 12rnd mags with Magguts +2 extensions. Carries very well this way and I have the xmacro grip and 17 round mags for when I go open carry or don't mind the grip printing a little.

I do wish they would make an XL or standard grip module with a picatinny rail like the xmacro. I really like my Olight PL-mini 2 with this setup. I added a Tactical Development rail to the XL grip, but finding a holster is near impossible.

As far as shooting, I shoot it as well as my G19's if not better and they all have trigger enhancements. I seem to pick up the 407k easier on the P365 than on the G19's with 507c's . Despite having a smaller window.

Mckinatec holsters have a Mini-2 with Tac Dev rail as an option.

  4. Unless you are a M&P person with a bunch of mags around I would think one of the other Glock mag options would be a better option.  Not to mention if you are going 16" you could get a lot more potential out of a rifle caliber.

  5. another vote for the TX22 Comp. The gun world seems to be all on the same page that Taurus is a bit of a gamble in terms of quality, however everyone seems to be aligned that there is one exception to that rule and it is the TX-22.  Put a Holosun 507 and my rugged oculus on it and it is a blast to rip through mags.

To me those are tools with different purposes.

Urban v. rural, human v. animal attack, ability to maneuver to cover, and ability to run away are relevant factors.

If I can't maneuver easily and use cover (say I'm injured to begin with, or caring for a small child) or if I think multiple assailants are likely, I want the ability to fire rapidly and reload quickly.

In a rural area where the most likely threat is an animal, I'd rather have the .44.

Not going to lie I think either scenario I would rather have the capacity and reload speed of a 9MM semi auto. Especially if we are talking about TN wildlife, you get into the mountains or out west I would switch to a glock 10MM but same concept.

  7. Just got into pressure canning this year, have done chicken and beef stew as well as a handful of other veggies.  It's a fun skill to have and a good way to put away some food for later use.  Did a few batches of candied jalapenos as well and they have been mighty tasty.

  8. My suggestion would be to avoid a "block set".  Get yourself a really good quality chef knife, paring knife, and bread knife.  After that get yourself a quality set of sharpening stones or a system to keep them sharp.    This will cover 95% of what you need and avoid spending money on knives you aren't going to use.  I picked up a tactile chef's knife maybe 2 years ago and it has been a champion, also really like the Spyderco kitchen knives.

No input on the steak knives.
