  1. A-okay. Cycled normally !!!
  2. Out to the range tomorrow. We'll see how it does in real life.
  3. BAM !!! New parts in and working!!! Piece of cake. Years of minor frustration behind me. Noooow why couldn't the "gunsmith" have done that. No, he had to pry and bend at it making it worse. Thanks all
  4. Yep, Parts on the way.
  5. Yea I ordered two sets of each.
  6. Crap. Thanks. I did find them at Liberty Tree. Shoulda checked ePay. I ordered em as a back up to keep in "the bin". Hoping I'll be able to figure out installation. YouTube is a lean lean here.
  7. After a bit of chit chat on another forum I discovered it to be rimlock as a result of Interrupter/ejector issues. Problem discovered but not solved. Clearly you can see the geometry difference in the interrupters here. The M39 (lower) is the bowed one with tab a bit bent and not protruding into the receiver . The PU Sniper (upper) is the not bowed, rather straight, and the tab looking in alignment while protruding into the receiver. I guess this is what the other smith was bending and tweaking. Not sure if I would be able to bend and torque back into what should be a proper shape. Can these be purchased? The ejector part seems identical with both. No cosmo or debris mucking up the motion of either. They both feel about the same when pressing on them and appear to be in identical placement.
  8. Ah, will give him a call. I forgot about those guys.
  9. I’ve got one of those Finnish M39’s that Century turned into so called “M39 Snipers” by adding a PU Scope / mount back in the day. It’s a fantastic shooter and while it’s historically incorrect I sure don’t mind shooting it scoped. Since day one it has had problems feeding and ejecting. #1 I’ve noticed, almost reliably, when it comes to the third round in a full magazine round #3 will NOT feed. The bolt just bangs the rear and I cannot for the life of me see what the problem is. Even if I push the round down and around it will not feed. After I drop the floor plate and reload and all is fine with those three rounds. If I fill wi 5 rds, #3 always seems to lock up. #2 The other issue is it barely/rarely ejects unless I pull the bolt back very fast and even then it sorta drops out of the receiver. Just pulls the spent casing outta the chamber and leaves it in the receiver. I’ve swapped bolts with other Mosins and no change. I gave it to a well know 1911 gunsmith in town and he resolved it temporarily. He didn’t change any parts, rather, just sorta messed with it. Never got a clear answer what he did. The first trip to the range a month ago all was well. Yesterday it was back to the old probs described above (and even worse). I have two other actual PU Snipers and the actions are like butter. I know these aren’t very complicated rifles but I don’t want to trial and error anything myself. I’d like to just send this thing out. Can anyone recommend an actual brick n Mortar gunsmith that knows Mosins ? In middle TN would be great.
  10. I've learned more. You're brand new here (???) PM me or shoot me an email
  11. Hey folks sorry for resurrecting a seriously old necro thread. I'm in the Nashville area and a fellow on another Forum mentioned he was a member of this club. Only half hour from my house. I started to ask him how to contact or become a member and he went crickets on me. I'm currently a member at Middle Tennessee Sporting Association ( past Hartsville) . We used to be the Gallatin Gun Club and our new range is a solid hour+ drive for me. I can find almost nothing online. Website is dead. Basically this old thread was a top find after searching but not myself.
  12. Go git er dun Hersh. Need a few more months at the Steam Plant. Especially if we're going to hold onto members. Nobody's going to want to pay dues (increased dues) for no place to shoot. Maybe the climate in Washington is different now (ya think ???)
  13. Only 10-15 min farther for me. It's a gorgeous site. I had the privilege of riding nearly every square acre of it on a four wheeler on a GPS surveying exercise (4-5 hours straight on an ATV up many steep inclines and I can tell you my upper body is KILLING me today). I think we may be underestimating what could be possible for this land. Of course I am not in the know of the NRA specs of how best to design a range but I could imagine several IDPA matches and maybe even an area for three gun all happening at once..
  14. Yup. And a decent chunk of land already under contract. 10-15 min farther drive for me me but . . . . shrug.
  15. The topic was broached among several at the meeting. We'll see.
  16. So what's the story?
  17. THAT'S funny
  18. I think it's safe to say that the dues MUST go up SIGNIFICANTLY for us to purchase land and build out a range that is at minimum the quality of what we had. And more likely will surpass including facilty for other shooting disciplines/sports. As long it isn't way out in the boonies (near the KY border or something) I am hopeful in the end we will have a robust more involved membership. Out of a presently capped 1,200 members probably only a couple hundred AT MOST use the range at all. $50/yr was pathetically cheap for what that place was. That's why so many members (many who left middle TN) just kept renewing via auto pay. Higher dues will mean higher quality membership/attendance/involvement.
  19. If we build it they will come ?
  20. I think Ron once told me that out of the 1,200 members only a couple/few hundred actually made use of the range. Lot of members don't even live in the vicinity anymore. Gonna take the pessimistic view for a second here: I fear that between moving further out of town, nonrenewing members, further distance for non members to attend shooting events and especially being down for a year (or so) there could be a major slump in membership (and income) before it gets better. This could actually be devastating as the club reserves between purchase and build out could be entirely depleted. Everyone should try to get to this Mondays meeting.
  21. No, we cleared that hurdle a couple years ago. Ash site went elsewhere. Far as I can tell this came outta nowhere and w/o warning. I'm gonna attend the next meeting.
  22. ". . . this decision came down from the top within TVA and was not a local decision or request. The Gallatin plant management and personnel have always been supportive of GGC and still are." What a travesty !!! I would suspect somewhat political in nature given the posture of the current outgoing Presidential Administration but don't let me be caught spreading conspiracy theories. I don't know if it's cool to post the whole letter that was sent to us members but it looks like we'll be looking for another site post haste. " We are currently looking for property and need everyone's help. Let us know if there is a piece of property you think might be suitable for a range. The sooner we find a location the sooner we can start the zoning process for approval for use as a gun range. The sooner all of that occurs, the sooner that general membership activities including competitions and shooting can resume on a new range.
  23. Did they have 20 rounders ?
  24. Did they have 20 rounders ?
