Ok need some help here. The wife has expressed interest in having her own handgun. She even has expressed interest in getting her HCP sometime this year possibly so I am trying to encourage the interest. So far she has shot a Sig P250 9mm, Walther P22 and Luger LCP. Didnt like actually shooting LCP recoil was too much for her "hurt her hand" . Walther P22 liked but not enough stopping power to use for carry. She is not interested in a revolver. Going to be typically carrying in purse so within reason concealment fairly easy. Biggest thing for her is easy recoil. Only other request from me would like to keep it under $1,000 ideally the $500 to $700 price range even better. So looking for suggestions on this.

Just curious what other folks do planning a trip by car for about 10 days all the states I am driving to reciprocate the TN HCP so no issues there. Do you all carry extra ammo above and beyond what you normally do on a daily basis for a long or extended trip? If so how much?

So far I have had the privilege of serving our country by sitting on a federal grand jury for 18 months. Its the second longest service you are ask to do outside of military duty. Twice a month all day long roughly 8 to 10 hours we met. It had it's down side obviously but at same time I did feel like I was giving back to my country as a whole. I am now considering volunteering at my local sheriff's office. I can volunteer as a reserve deputy(No Pay) I have to commit to work at least 16 hours a month. Anyone else done something like this or considered this?

I live in the Nashville area and was given 4 tickets and parking pass to take my family to see the University of Tennessee play Vanderbilt. Since this trip is roughly 180 miles each direction I would ideally like to carry as I do everyday in case of car failure or whatever little surprises arise. However since I am driving straight up to knoxville parking on campus and driving back after the game is there anyway for me to carry legally up for the trip leave it my car during the game and drive back with my handgun? The way I read the law there is not since I will be bring on campus. Would love some guidance on this question. Thanks.

XD, Good advice had planned on let her use my .22 with laser sight .. Give her 2 or 3 rounds to start and tell her put red dot on target (ideally center) and sqeeze slowly..

Have a ten year old daughter that has expressed interest in going to range with her dad. She saw youtube video of another daughter (11) shooting with her dad and ask me if she could come. So guess my question is there age to early to learn? Also if I do let her come tips suggestions etc...

I am new shooter been through HCP and NRA basic handgun course but wanting to take my training to next level. Seen lots of comment check out this class or this seminar so here is my question. In other sports I usual reach a level where most effective use of time and money is one on one training. A qualified individual giving tips on ways to better improve my performance. Private lessons if playing golf. In a gym situation called a personal trainer. Would like it to be on going situation meeting twice or once a month for an hour or something similar, so traveling here or there wouldn't really work. Need something within say an hour distance to my location. So does this training exist ? If so whom you recommend or not recommend?
