I am a big fan of Sig. I leaned towards the G20 due to increased capacity and a history of great functionality even in the most fouled adverse conditions.

I’ll give the Sig another look.

The Sig P220 10mm magazines have a capacity of 10.  It's my woods carry gun with a GunfightersINC Kenai chest holster.  The Sig P220 10mm comes in a few different flavors.  Legion, Emperor Scorpion, Nitron, Stainless, Hunter.  I know the Legion and Hunter are still in production, not so sure about the others.

  2.  "Louisville has seen a surge of violent crime. According to police statistics, murders, rapes and robberies were up more than 81% above the five-year averages in January and February. This followed a 2020 where police retirements and resignations were at a five-year high after Taylor's death. Approximately 15% of the police force left during that time."

Starting to sound familiar in more and more cities lately.

  3. Have owned a Glock 20 Gen4 and had the slide milled for RMR.  Several years later my wife bought me a Sig P220 Legion 10mm and I never shot the Glock 20 again and sold it.  Huge difference.  I would recommend checking into some of the various Sig P220's in 10mm.  Much more pleasant to shoot than the tupperware variety.

  4. Ironically as I have evolved in my firearm ownership over the years I have started to seek out and purchase more wood stock firearms. Have already purchased one for my son who is just around the corner from starting to use it for deer hunting. It all starts with our kids and youth to pass on and to ensure our 2nd Amendment rights survive. I work with several millennials and they are all pro gun or grew up around guns surprisingly. If you want to ensure survival of the 2nd Amendment take your kids, your friends, etc. out shooting and show them proper methods, safety, shooting practices and such. I have introduced several new gun owners and hunters over the years and continue to do so (kids and adults). It’s the only way the 2nd Amendment will confine to survive. The NRA and politicians are far from a guarantee to just sit back and do nothing. Do your part.

  5. Called one in last Saturday and missed the shot. Still in disbelief. I had packed up and planned to go this morning but woke up and saw all the trees blowing sideways at 15-20MPH and 36 degrees and went back to bed. Anyone else make it out today?

  6. Remington 870 Shurshot 12 gauge with 3.5" Win. XR Longbeards.  Been happy with #5 shot.  Using an Indian Creek Choke.  Haven't been seeing many turkeys on my hunting property but they usually show themselves on opening day.

  7. Check Parker Safe's.  I bought a safe elsewhere online and they moved it into my house and installed it for me for around $200.  They did a great job and would use them again for sure.

  8. Sent both of my P320's in the week before Thanksgiving and got them back the week following Thanksgiving.  Quick turnaround for sure.  Appeared to be a new barrel and slide that I received back.  Also received a patch and a 25% discount card from each P320 to use on the Sig website.  Haven't had a chance to shoot them post trigger change/modification but from what I am hearing it's been a pretty positive change with a slightly better reset.  I've enjoyed my P320c (.40S&W) and P320rx a lot.   Have an AlienGear for the P320c (.40S&W) and a StealthGear for the P320rx.

  9. G29 has always been on my short list.  Have had a Gen4 G20 for a few years now.  Sent it off recently to have milled for an RMR cut and should have it back later this week.  Underwood is definitely the way to go on 10mm.

I'll let you know.  He was very responsive up until this past weekend.  Coincidentally I paid him for the work done, last week.

Going to send him another email tomorrow and see what the deal is.  I received a photo of a grip module last week, so if that was mine, it should be on the way to me by now.

Ever receive your grip module back?

  11. Didn't say denied.  I'm in agreement that the prints were not high enough quality / smudged.  You may get contacted to come back in to be re-printed.  If the tips on your fingerprints are worn / not good this can easily happen.  Or too light, too dark.   A number of variables can reduce the fingerprint capture quality.  After two failed attempts they will then move on to a name based check.

I am hopelessly optimistic for you.  Keep us posted.

It's taken way longer than he said it would, unfortunately.  Quote was 4 weeks.  I'm sitting at nearly 8.

That's not good to hear.  Hopefully they have at least kept in communication with you on the status.  I sent them a few emails and they were very responsive.

  14. I keep a small handgun safe for easy access on one floor of my house and then the other floor has my larger/main safe.  I have an additional handgun safe that I'm still trying to determine where I can put it.  I have two little ones but have been training them and working to remove the curiosity.
