  1. Generally we NEVER see sharks after around 2100fsw, this was a very strange incedent to say the least
  2. After 6 hours of repair and 10K worth of equipment (my Companies Money) all was back in order, whenever 300lbs hangs on the sub during recovery there is hell to pay, so we all ate the thing with smiles on our faces
  3. The Asians on board had it fileted 20 minutes after the photos were taken, The tygon tubing on the Submarines have oil running through them and when illuminated by lights, they appear as eels to Sharks, so he followed the sub knocking it around for over an hour and when he went for the tygon he got stuck in the frame, not sure what kind of shark but he was 6 feet 5 inchs and weighed slightly over 300LBS
  4. At times my job can be very interesting, when you fly an ROV at 4300fsw depth, you never expect this to happen!
  5. Here is one of my toys, I am thinking of getting into Helicopters next year, but for now this is my most fun beside guns!
  6. Well put, I feel the same way
  7. Thanks, I was wondering about that
  8. Not sure about Tennessee, but Florida knows you have a permit after running your plates, I think it is the same here?
  9. The best way to do that is to have a colored copy of your drivers license, registration, insurance card, and Handgun permit all on one page kept on your visor, once pulled over hand that paper to the officer and then let him or her know that you are carrying, I have done this several times and the officer has always been kind and asked for the real documents, in my experience it shows the officer that you are a law abiding citizen and shows him or her that you respect their position,
  10. If you are talking about the S&W (cant remember the model) .40 against the Glock, they are identical, S&W was sued by Glock for that and lost http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smith_&_Wesson_Sigma
  11. If you are happy with it and you trust your life to it, that is all that matters, I would be sure to fire several rounds of your carry round to make sure it cycles everytime, I have seen alot of 1911's choke, no price does not always dictate quality, but alot of times it does,
  12. No problem your Kahr and XD will serve you fine, The thing about a 1911 is they are very finiky, picky guns unless tuned properely and used and maintained correctly they are not a good carry gun, they in my opinion are the worse guns an in-experienced owner can carry the 1911 is the absolute best design and when one is experienced with it the best carry gun IMHO but it is a gun that you should not buy the cheapest out there, the amount of handfitting and tolerances needed to make them run like a top gets expensive, that is why I advise people who want to get a $600.00 1911 to go ahead and buy a Glock
  13. He is refering to the model 1911, not a Kahr or an XD
  14. Never said that it did, out of 10 1911's that I have owned 1 of them did as he described, I had several failures to feed with that gun and sold it, this is my experience YMMV
  15. No offence intended but I would not carry that weapon if I were you, any 1911 that will not cycle while chambering, when you rack the slide normally will eventually fail, if you cannot afford or do not want to shell out the money for a properly tuned, built 1911 carry a Glock, it just may save your life
  16. Thanks man, I just saw some of those yesterday, I will pick some up
  17. Thanks for the replies, I have shot several 44 magnums throughout my life I will be shooting hot 44 mag loads through this, I am curious to see how much the comp helps with the muzzle flip, recoil, i will try to find some Cor Bon DPX .44 mag tommorow somewhere between Nashville and Cookeville where I will be shooting, anyone know where any is in stock?
  18. it cant be any worse than the 500 S&W I shot, I will find out tommorow:tough:
  19. Joe from Hero Gear ordered me on of these from S&W, I picked it up last week my first 44 magnum, Smith and Wesson Performance center 629 Carry Comp, I will shoot it for the first time tommorow
  20. I just picked up a G21 SF with night sights, Glock rail, single side safety, ( Tuesday ) I have to confess, I like this pistol alot more than the XD-45 I owned, I bought 8 extra magazines, a Surefire X300 with pressure switch and I think that this will be the best home defense pistol ever owned by me, I am a true 1911 addict, but for the money this is the best pistol I could have bought, the pointing issues that use to bother me are non existant with my new friend, I bought the XD a while back because I could never adjust to the grip that a Glock 21 offered(45 Acp is what I love), The 21SF that I now own fits my mitts perfectly and I am darn glad I bought it
  21. Nice place I picked up my Glock there Tuesday

    1911, why?

Cocked and Locked (Condition 1) is how the 1911 was meant to be carried, If you carry one it is the only way, I have for several years and will continue to carry 1911's, I carry a Nighthawk Custom pistol that was very expensive, it was custom built for me to carry the way I wanted it, that is how I justify the price and it is also what makes it worth it to me. I use to own a Springfield XD 45acp, but I never carried it, I also just purchased a Glock 21 SF, I love this new gun but it will be for home defense only. For me at least I shoot the 1911 better and more accurately than any gun out there, and God forbid if I ever have to use it I know that I am more comfortable using it than any other pistol when I am not at home,
  23. Smith and Wesson 500 Magnum, 2 3/4 barrel Cor Bon DPX bullets, I shot 3 rounds and gave it back to the owner, my 1911 45acp felt like a BB gun after that!
