1.   He does.  He has a couple of other really nice mid 50's Colt target revolvers.  He said I don't get those till his will is read.
2. As a lot of you know I have been looking for a 22 rifle. Well I came into one but I do not think this will be used as my walking thru the woods squirrel gun. I started a thread over in Handguns about a Colt Bankers Special that my Uncle gave me. This was another one of the guns he gave me. An older Belgium made Browning 22 Takedown. This is a sweet little rifle. 3. Welcome to the board Whitfed.  A lot of guys around here like to use big bores.  45-70, 458 socom, '06 etc.  I am sure a few other will sound off in a bit. Also, in Tennessee you can not hunt at night except for coons.
4. Come on now, Muskrat Love was a good song... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfmfiBjw-ks
5. They are getting divorced.   I can't be the only guy to secretly like them back in the 70's, can I?  :hiding:
6.   Your link gives me the same info that the link Caster supplied.  That it is a late 1931 Bankers Special.     Its to bad you do not still have the .22.  They seem to demand a quite a premium over the .38s because of their rarity.
7. Nice.  I am considering on of these in 22lr.
8. What a cute bulldog.
9.   Thanks for info and the links.  I would have never guessed that this Colt was riding the rails protecting the mail.   Thats pretty cool.
10. It indexes correctly and locks up tight. It does not feel 83 years old. I was just wiping it down and noticed something it is engraved on the backstrap. Don't know how I missed it earlier. 11.   It was older than I expected.  Here is what the above link returned:   1931 BANKERS SPECIAL
12. I just assumed it was 38 special. There was ammo in the case he gave me so I went down to my truck to see what kind it was. Sure enough, it was 38 S&W.
13. My Uncle has asked me to help him get rid of a few guns. I thought this one was pretty cool. It is the Bankers Special in 38 with pearl grips. I have never been a big fan of Colt revolvers. This one though really caught my eye. Does anybody have a link for when I can look up the age of the gun? I am guessing it is a sixties model but not sure. 14. Do you know why?
15. So I was at Academy looking at some of the .22s everybody suggested in the other thread. The guy behind the counter said look at the Ruger American .22. They had a compact and a standard. I really liked the standard. It was a little heavier than the others but it felt more like a deer rifle, what I am used to carrying. I really liked the look of it. It uses 10/22 mags so there is no ugly magazine sticking out the bottom. Has anybody here had any experience with this rifle?
16. I really like the look of the 552. Thanks. I will check out the Marlin.
17. What a great outing!
18. I grew up shooting a Marlin model 60 and love it.  I am not really wanting to pop off a lot of rounds so a bolt gun may be the way to go.   When I say a 10/22 feels chunky I am referring to my neighbors.  He has a heavy laminated stock on it.     I guess it is time to go fondle some at a lgs.  Thanks for all the suggestions.
19. I am wanting to get a 22 that I can pink with and hunt squirrels with etc…  I would prefer a semi over a bolt and something that is made to be carried rather than shot from a bench.     10/22s have always felt a little chunky to me.  Not interested in adding anything to the rifle except for a scope.  I have heard good things about the CZ's but have never shot one.  Which rifles do you think I should be looking at?
20. Good luck to all the younguns going out this weekend.
21.   Not really.  Yes, FSU won, but I think that if FSU had played a schedule as tough as Auburn or Alabama, they would have never made it to the championship game.
22. That big one is a nice mulie.
23.   I have stopped using Ballistic Silvertips.  They sure get the job done but boy do they make a mess.   I loved my AR10.  Wish I had not sold it off.
24. Nice job. What were you shooting?
25. FYI - Anybody looking for 300 Win Mag, WalMart has their 180 gr Core-Lokt on clearance for $25 per box.
