Search for Accuracy

Thanks for the thought, But in no way can I get off 10 shots in 60 seconds the way I shoot. I guess that I shot my AR the way I shoot my bolt gun.

Jct1911    What are you referring to as a heavy profile? I am assuming the barrel, which did you chose? Do you feel that the M&P is a place to start, or do I need a different platform?

Thanks for the comments. At the present I shoot 1.00" to 1.25" with 53 gn. sierra and 24.4 gn. 4064 at 100yds with bipod and rear bag. My M&P is about 6years old. I was thinking of a match grade barrel and free float tube.
4. Hey All,   My plan is to get my S&W M&P15 to shoot as well as possible. At present it is completly stock. I only compete with my son in law and myself, but I want the best at what I can afford. Now my gold for now is to shoot 1 inch at 200yds. I have no problem doing this with my bolt gun at the present. I do reload for my 223's. I had stated that  the M&P was stock, not true I change out the trigger springs to the yellow kit from Midway and a Nikon 3-9 Prostaff. My question is what should be the steps to reach my intended gold? Is the M&P a good platform to start with or should I go a different route? Any help or thoughts on others builds would be very helpful. Thanks
5. I see that there is a gun show in Bristol this weekend at Exit 7 Holiday Inn.Has anyone been to this show before? I don't see how it could be of any size to be held at the Holiday Inn. I would like to go if anyone has some good reports on the past show.
6. Did anyone go to the gun show in Kingsport today and if so how was the reloading supplies.powder and 223 cases. If there was a supply I will check it tomorrow. Thanks

M&P15-22 Improvement

Where did you purchase the Rock River Trigger,Do you have a close to price and how light is the pull?
8. Hope that at the correct form,I have been working getting my bolt guns to my likings,  now I am back to my M&P 15-22. I would like to get it ready for an Apple Seed event. I need to improve the trigger pull most of all. What are some of the upgrades other have used that has lowed the trigger pull and is there any tips on improving the accuracy without breaking the bank? I have changed out the springs> I think they J&P . Anyways they were yellow. Thanks In Advance  (Need some help)
9. I sure do thank all for the quick responce. Do most feel that there is a saving on reloading 223 ,I have read that the best part is learning the process and the accuracy that can be gained from a more consistent load. Also is $349 for the kit a good buy or should I look around for I think that is the kit I will purchase. Thanks
10. I am somewhat new to the site and hope I am in the correct form.I am thinking of ordering a press kit from Cabela's It is RCBS RockChucker Surpreme kit $349 .Can anyone help with the Pro or Cons on this kit or offer any thoughs on a better purchase. At the start I will only be attempting to load 223 and 243. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

No they are not stringer. They will be wide left or right and mostly high. the Barrel is free floated back to the barrel lug

22 needs a new crown

I have had three different scopes on this rifle 1st a weaver 2-7.   2nd Nikon 3-9 and third is a Mueller 8.5-25. The rings are stock CZ's.  I have only had bulk and some low price ammo to use, they were Remington Winchester and American Eagle both 36 and 40 gr. I can shoot the same ammo in my Remington 541T and cover the group with a dime at 50 yds that off a bench with both front and rear bags. I have changed out the trigger spring and shimmed the sear with a Yo- Dave kit,Very nice trigger pull and still this gun will not group at 50 yds. Some times three very close and two out 1/2 to 3/4 in and sometime three will be way out , just don't know for every one I speak with says this gun should shoot better groups. Thanks for some help or some suggestions.
15. I sure hope this is the correct place to ask this question. I have a CZ 22 and having problems getting a good group at 50 yds. After shooting I don't see the powder ring around the crown like on my Remington or my Ruger does this sound like it could need a recrown. If so does any one know who can do this around the Tri-Citys Thanks in Advance
16. I am not sure if this is the correct place , I looked in the for sell and could not find anything that would help. A guy at work has a Remington 1100 20 ga LT that I like the looks of and he not sure what he wants for it and I don't know what it is worth. He said he got it in the 80s new and it still look good. Look like it would be fun to shoot for I think I would like the 20 ga over a 12. Could some one help with what would be a fair offer
17.   Would your kit work in a S&W 15-22 for my trigger is so heavy that it not much fun to shoot. How hard is it to install, and how much does it lighten the trigger and does it remove the creep? Price also.
18. Dolomite,   I hope that your head does not get to big, But to know and live near you would surely be a God Sent!
19. This sounds like this may help for I just checked my trigger travel and it is about 1/8in. may be a little more
20.   That sure sounds like it would fit the bill But is out of my price range today How does a two stage trigger work Does it stop at end of the pull of the first stage and you feel a reset or what
21. Also would like to add that the trigger feel smooth and does not have very much slack or take-up
22. Thank Guys, When I first got the rifle a friend change two of the springs for me. Don't know if it means anything but the stocks one were black in color the new one are yellow. Don't know what the pull is now but would like it lighter for it it quite heavy now. I am comparing it to a Remington 22 that I shoot all the time It has a 2.38 lb pull
23. I would say this has been ask so many times,But I could sure use some guidance on this . I have a S&W M&P 15 and I would like to have a little better trigger pull What is the cheapest way and still be the right way to lighten the pull? Would like to try this myself so don't make it to endepth.     Thanks
24.
Why couldn't you use the form you got in the mail?
They said it had something to do with the Bar Code at the top, would not scan in the local offices. Also took about 1 1/2 hrs wait
