I guess I opened up a can of worms with my original question. I have continued to read all the post from everyone and as I had said not looking for anything speical,just that it hard to believe that for growing two and a half lbs of pot in in 1980 could cost someone so much. My brother and I both know that what he did was wrong. Just wants you be able to go hunting now with out breaking the law once again.

The reason of my brother feloney was he had too much pot that he grew . He pay his fines and did three years. Now he has retired from a job of 27 years. He doesn't want anything special just to be able to get out and hunt and have a gun in his home without breaking the law.

When I took the handgun carry course the instructor said that if you are stop by any law officer that you are to tell them you have a permit and that you also have your gun. My question is am I to give up my gun to the officer if he wants it for any reason.

I have a question that maybe someone can answer.When I took my carry training course I was told that if and when I was ever pulled over I was to tell the office that I had a carry permit and was carrying but no one ask if you had to turn over your gun if ask by the officer I have often wonder about what you have to do by the law

I had very good luck on my last problem from this site that my son is looking for some help. Problem, he had the firing pin replaced at a gun store in his mini 14 Ruger, A few days later he was looking at it an dry fired it and the bolt locked up. Had to release it through the magazine channel. then the bolt would work ok till he dry fired again an then lock-up. What could be the problem Thanks

I would like to thank all of you for the quick respones.I ckeck my manaul,it shows the cal # by the bolt lock but on the gun there is no caliber stamp just the sn#.I did find a nato 556 mark on the barrel so I hope that means 556ammo is ok, when I purchased the gun I was told it was a 223. Again thank for the information

I have just purchased my first 223,it is a smith&wesson m&p flat-top.After I ordered some ammo I got to reading that I could have some problems with 556 in my 223.I thought that 223 and 556 was the same size. the ammo was from cheaper that dirt,the add said slashed prices on 223 futher on in the add it said the ammo was 556.I sure could use some help here for I want to stay safe and not damage my gun Thanks
