I have heard, from a very reliable source, that 17 round magazines should be available around Christmas. Apparently there is an issue cranking out enough for the firearms that have been produced. This has happened before with Sig magazines. Grip modules should be available around the same time, and we may see combo packaging where you buy a grip module and magazine(s) together.

The geometry of the mags are different. They will not fit in any other current 365 frames.
My 365XL didn’t get that message.
In fact, I have already modified 15 round XL mags to work in the Macro frame.

Even at 400 it’s the cheapest used p365 I have ever seen. You can’t hardly by just the upper and mags for $400.

Everyone, please send Wilson Combat an email requesting the Macro grip.

I’m hoping Wilson Combat is working on Macro grips. I’m hearing stand alone magazines may not be available until after Christmas.

Yes, it is a true modular p365. It shares parts with all the other models. The Macro frame will accept a p365xl or regular p365 slide.

I am very pleased with mine as long as I dismiss how much it cost me. The grip is about perfect. The comp has cut back on muzzle flip a noticeable amount. I have even modified a 15 round magazine to use as a back up. I’m hearing a lot of Glock 48 holsters fit well and confirmed on a kydex holster for a G48.

I have found the Grip Force Adapters, or hacking off a Gen 4 beaver tail adapter, helps fix the stupid angle. In fact, I have found running an optic on a Glock is easier for people used to shooting 1911s, p320s, or other pistols with the correct grip angle. The reason is you find the muzzle slightly high punching out from the pocket on the presentation.

I see your in Nashville but how much you asking?

I find this very interesting, because I don't know that I've ever seen any Springfield guns listed by name as an official duty weapon of any US agency ever.
Not that they're not great guns, just never seen it.
I would love to hear if they still have them. Signal Mountain PD had XD45 for about eight years before going to Glock in 2019. Springfield 1911s are very popular duty weapons, but I will admit it’s an entirely different scenario.

Anthony at Anthony’s Armory does the majority of my transfers. He charges $35 total.

That’s a very fair price with the TLR1 and 50 HSTs.

I see no reason for shooting 40 in a 10mm gun. If I want to shoot 40, I shoot it in a gun built for 40.
I had, and still do, tons of 40s&w given to my by the agencies I have worked for. Once again 40 ammo withstood the ammo shortages best.

I haven’t met anyone with a high round count Gen 5 40 yet. The academy where I am an instructor has seen a fairly large amount of Gen 5 40s come through without a single issue. I am actually considering one myself.

Tempting!

I went through the frustrations a few years back with a conversion on a Springer. Just buy you a dedicated 38super 1911.

Most of us 10mm guys shoot 40 in the 10mm barrel and did so long before the Internet was around to tell us it shouldn’t be done.

Do you ever get to Nashville or even further South?

You said mountain plates. Is this an MOS?

I’m an 870 armorer if I can help with anything. There are some concerns with thin barrel when you chop one, and because of timing concerns it’s not practical to do a barrel swap. I don’t know that I would ever bother to chop an old 870. I would buy a $500 Tac 14 as a base for your SBS.

are you running the shield arms metal mag release with the mags?
I actually had the old aluminum one before they made them with steel. My recommendation is to switch the polymer one out every year or every ~600 rounds.

I am at about 18 months of carry time and about 1500 rounds with a Glock 43x. I like it more than any Glock I have ever owned. I had one malfunction with a Shield magazine and haven’t really trusted them since. I own a G48 also, but I have no where near the same amount of time with it. I do shoot the 43x a few inches to the left from the 10 yard line which is really common.
The 43x is extremely common amongst LE agencies at this time. It replaced the G33 at THP and the ones I have talked to praise them.
I actually shoot my P365X a little better. If it weren’t for the fact the 43X and Glock is so much more common with the agencies I train with, I would just run a p365x with factory 12 or 15 round magazines.
I like the M&P Shield Plus, but I don’t need another platform complicating things. I was always a big fan of the older Shields. I still have a 40.

No, the 12 rounds are way too short. It’s possible someone could make an adapter like the 10round magazines run to work in the xl module.
