I thought I mentioned this already. Most of the time if it is the last round in the mag it is an inertia feed and almost always because the slide is outrunning the mag. Sometimes a stronger mag spring masks the problem if a stronger recoil spring doesn’t take care of it. This is not the sound of extractor tension being the culprit; we normally see that with rounds throughout the entire magazine. A dirty or wet mag can also contribute to inertia feed.

One more thing, 1911 mags should be dry as a bone and as free of dust and dirt as possible. The mags needs to be extremely dry.

It’s worth a trip back to RIA. They will eventually get it running or send you a new one. What happens if you load one round into a mag and try to release the slide? Does it go into battery 100 times out of 100? I really believe you are experiencing the dreaded inertia feed. An extended magazine release will do nothing.

Have an experienced 1911 shooter try it and with different mags while you are at it. Wilson Combat mags are ok. Many of us have taken Wilson Combat mags and replaced the springs with TrippCobra springs and/or followers.
Also, unless your NGeorgia ammo kaboomed the 1911, RIA will never know remanufactured ammo was shot. In fact most of NGeorgia Reloading ammo is made from virgin brass anyway. They are an ATF licensed ammo manufacturer. I’m not a fan of N Georgia Reloading; I have seen many failures mostly because of weak ammo.

I have a CVA in .243 and love it. I bought it because it was recommended by a friend that had a 45-70 and used it over about a half dozen other rifles in his safe.

I will happily meet you at your range or mine and we try some known to work mags in your and try your mags in my known to work 1911.

I would probabbly just write it off as a tight, new gun. And stick with ammo it has known to like.
I recently acquired a 1911 that does the exact same thing but only with my handloads and 230 cast bullets. It has not done it with several different brands of ball ammo and several hollow points.

Those 129 gr Hydro shocks have never expanded in any test I have ever seen. The HST micro is a good load though.

I cut my ties with UT Football about a decade ago. Even Dooley was able to hand Ga State a loss. I don’t believe UT even practiced in the preseason or even prepared for Ga State.

I have some of the ring products. My only complaint is about a 12 second delay sometimes in being able to pull up the alert.

My dad carried a few American Derringers through the 80s and 90s. I have shot about a dozen derringers in my life and owned a few. I had the opportunity to shoot a 45-70 a few years ago and regret that I passed.
I prefer the American Derringer but find the Bond ok. To me they shine as a back up to a rifle or large handgun nothing small is chambered in like 45Colt, 44 mag, 10mm, or maybe 45acp. My 45 Win mag wasn’t really all that bad. I would say 38 spl is the most powerful you would shoot for fun in a regular basis.

I finally got the Sig p250 to 100%. It honestly took more time and effort than it was worth. I polished the feedramp and replaced just about every spring without it performing any better. A couple of new mags didn’t matter either.
An experienced gunsmith looked at it and determined that the chamber was too tight. Seriously, he took a dremel, and a reamer, and opened the chamber up a hundredths of an inch or two. So far it has been flawless for the last 250 rounds.

The P250 and the P320 share the same grip modules, magazines, barrels, and a few other smaller parts. I appreciate the offer. What city are you in?

I managed to fit a Glock spring in the Sig mag. I plan on testing it today.

I always wanted a Sig P250. I have eyed them for years and past on one or two that I later wished I would have bought. I won one on Gunbroker for what I thought was an amazing deal (about $250 OTD). It is used but in very good condition. It’s a 40 subcompact and only came with one magazine and no box. I picked it up yesterday to be surprised by the excellent condition and half-life night sights.
Call me crazy, but I actually wanted a .40 since my department has vowed to stick with them for a lot longer and I am swimming in .40 ammo. I seriously have about 3k rounds with most being hollow points.
Well, I went to the range today and was less than impressed. My groups were the size of my fist at 10yards, but the failure to feed rate was about 5% or about 10 failures in 200 rounds. I’m thinking it may be the magazine as the spring actually feels weak. I was actually wanting to trim a compact grip to work with a subcompact slide; some of my attraction to this model.
I plan to try a Glock spring in the subcompact Sig mag tomorrow.
I am tempted to go ahead and order a new compact mag and a compact grip hoping I can make it run.
Anyone around Chattanooga got a P250/p320 mag I can borrow for testing?

I have one of the 2017 Colt Cobras and I love it. The new Colt King Cobra pushing a little north of $900 is a little much for me but the one I handled was super impressive. I may end up with one anyway.
