  1. You can filter water through cloth first, then gravel in a bucket with holes in it, then pea gravel, then sand, etc. Once you get all the solids out you can either treat it chemically or boil/distill it. Many of the things found in flood water can be removed, it's just a matter of having the right method of treatment. Not likely to find systems that meet the treatment needs of flood waters contaminated with automotive fluids sitting around your neighborhood though.
  2. That is mean looking. I love it. Was that the one Joker had in the last Batman movie? There is no way he could have walked around sticking a Microtech in everyone's mouth with that factory edge. Those come from the factory with a scary sharp edge.
  3. Do you know how to sharpen a knife? If not you are in the right price range but will also need a course stone. I have found the two sided for as little at $10 before. Start with that and something you don't mind scratching up to begin with. You also need a sharpie marker.
  4. Approximately 5 years ago the high end custom stuff was ruling the show with few great buys found in a working style knife with few frills. Today the internet has opened up the industry with many makers turning out simple working knives at great prices. When you jump from the $50 category to the $150 category of which there will be great representative samples at Blade you gain in performance all out of proportion to how much more you are paying.
