  1. I will be headed to Pigeon Forge and was wanting to stop in at some shops that have reloading supplies. Are there any places not to far off of I-40 from Nashville to Pigeon Forge? Thanks in advance.
  2. Ok, it seems that some of you read into my post a little too much and involved what you thought I should teach my son. My son is 23 months old and I didn't want to take the time to see a manager. I only have a short selective time period for him to be in that buggy so I can shop with my sanity intact. I still had to go grocery shopping!
  3. So my son and I was at Academy Sports in Clarksville last week looking at scopes. they keep all the 22lr ammo at the service desk and by habit I just look over there when I walk in. They didn't have much , just some of that match grade expensive little boxes. Then we were beside the gun counter by the scopes and a customer came up to two young employees at the gun counter and you could tell that they knew each other. One very quietly said "just a second" and reached through the door behind him and pulled out two 225rd bricks of 22lr. He whispered something to the customer and off he went. I just kinda thought this was wrong in a way, appeared that he saved those for him. I have heard of this type of stuff at a few Academys and this my my first time witnessing it. I didn't feel like saying anything and making a stink about it because I had my son with me. Oh well, just thought I would share.
  4. I was thinking of going to the show in Franklin on Nov 22-23, but after hearing the complaints on here I am rethinking the trip. So what is so bad about it? I have never been. The last show I went to was in Murfreesboro and I really liked it there. I boycott the Nashville show because of having to pay for parking+admission. Thanks.
  5. My Academy has the 20rd box for $26. I would like to get the 50rd since they are the same price.
  6. I have heard from a few online sources that the Federal HST is available in a 50rd box for around $30. I've only seen a 20rd box for $25 around here. Anyone know if you can still get the 50rd box?
  7.   I missed it before it was taken down. What was the prices they had?
  8. You ready for the kicker in this story.....my co-worker is an ex-police officer!!! That's funny stuff, guess that's why he's an "ex". On another note guys, let's don't get to bashing each other about which caliber is better than the other. I myself don't dislike .40 or.45 or what ever else, it's just I shoot SO much better with a 9mm. I've had pretty much all the handgun calibers available at some time and settled with the 9mm simply because I shoot better with it. The problem wasn't the gun or the rounds, it was me, as my brother shot them with no problem at all! I will say though, I had a Glock 38 once and that was the best shooting gun I have ever had! I sold it because it was just too hard to find .45GAP rounds.
  9. So the other day I had a co-worker of mine walk by and see me looking at some 9mm ammo online. Then he stated that I should get a .40 because that's the best. He started rambling about this and that..blah... blah. Then he said that it's the best because the local Police use it. He said, " The PD uses .40 because it can shoot through an engine block and stop a car and a 9mm can't do that." And I had to just keep my mouth shut on at that point. Any further conversation would be useless! I don't dislike .40, just thought the whole engine block thing was hilarious!
  10. But I don't use Priority Mail, I usually send First Class only.
  11. When I go to the Post Office to ship small packages via First Class I usually pay $1.05 for tracking. In the past 2 weeks I have sent a few small packages that I didn't pay for tracking. On the receipts, they had a Package ID #. When I entered it in on the tracking page on USPS.com, they worked exactly like a tracking #. What's up with this? Have I been wasting my money on tracking when I have been getting it for free all along? Someone shed some light on this please. Thanks.
  12. I made one like the one mentioned in post #7. I'm in Clarksville and I put it in my attic and get some HD channels from Nashville. The main channels I get in HD are 2, 5, 17, 28,30,50, and 58. I lost ch 4, but I really don't watch it that much to stress over it. This is for the TV upstairs. I think eventually, I will try an outdoor antenna and get rid of Directv downstairs. For the reflector of this antenna I used a piece of cardboard covered in aluminum foil. I will try to figure out how to post a pic on here. 13. I guess you all already might know this but I called RK and they no longer have shows in Hendersonville. Looks like I'll be going to the one in Murfreesboro this Saturday to sell this LCR! I hear it's a good show. I agree on the post above, they are becoming flea markets!
  14. Never been but I heard its a good show. Going to be there Saturday early trying to sell a Ruger LCR with XS night sights NEW in box. Come take a look at it!
  15. I found online that there is a gun show this weekend (Jan 18-19) in Murfreesboro and Hendersonville. Is this correct?   http://www.rkshows.com/   http://gunshowtrader.com/gun-shows/hendersonville-gun-show/
  16. Does anyone know when the G42 is scheduled to be available?
  17. Thanks guys. Outpost is a little out of my way. I guess I'll just have to get them online. I hate those shipping rates!
  18. I'm looking for the Brenneke tactical home defense rifled slugs. Anyone know who sells these in the Nashville area?
  19. Needing new tires for my Toyota Tacoma. I am now running Michelin X Radial LT tires on it. They have been great. Today at the tire shop the guy showed me some Yokohama Geolander H/T-S tires. For a full set they will cost me about $200 less than the Michelins. Does anyone have any experience with these Yokohamas? I know the Michelins are great, but if the Yoko's are good too, I would love to save the cash. Thanks.
  20. If it's gonna be a self defense weapon, then XS Big Dots are the way to go!
  21. After reading many reviews I have settled on the MTAC for my PF-9 and Glock 19. Is there a shop where you can get these locally in Middle TN or do you have to order them online. I would like to see it in person before buying. thanks
  22. In my opinion, I think Gaston kept it simple by naming the guns by their patent order. But that's just my
  23. Does anyone know a gun shop that has these in the middle TN area? TN Gun Country and Guns & Leather don't carry them. I know I can get them online, but would like to see them in person. Thanks
  24. According to what I've read about them for being a "gun fight" sight and not being good for long distance, then that is what I need. All my handguns are for carry and personal defense, not precision. In the training that I have, in a stressful situation if the target is farther than say 20 yards or so, I don't need to shoot at it, due to the safety issue of what might be behind the target. My precision is with my 22 bench guns shooting flies at 50 yards!:up:I'll get them and if they don't work for me then I'll go with plan B.
  25. Well after asking about these on several different forums, I have only heard from one person that doesn't like them. That's a good ratio I guess.
