  1. I find it interesting how some, who profess to be conservative, actually support government snooping.  Some of the Fox News righties are in full agreement with what is happening.  I guess if you really listen to them for a while, you can come to the conclusion that they are not conservative at all.  They are just hawkish socialists.  Perhaps that is just typical of the northeast Republican crowd.

  2. Granted, this has been going on for quite some time, but it is now back in the news.

I have asked several people their thoughts on this topic, and I have gotten mixed responses.  Some argue that if one terrorist was stopped it was worth it, and they have nothing to hide.  Others have stated that it is none of the government's business what they are doing or who they are talking to.

    Any comments on the matter?

  3. Hah! Culture Club, forgot about those, er... guys?

Also add anything from Hootie and the blowfish or that one Irish band with the female singer, you know the song "and their guns and their bombs and their bombs and their guns"

    Can't stand it.

    The Cranberries.

  4. " Do you really want to hurt me" by Boy George and the answer is...yes I really do want to hurt you.

I will second that.  I hate everything from Culture Club.

Other songs I hate are Kajagoogoo's "Too Shy" and Toni Basil's "Mickey."  Thankfully you don't hear them anymore unless you search for them.

  5. I see, so what you are saying is that not acting to save 6 million people and the millions more who almost certaintly would have perished Is supposed to be a better position?

Sheesh, you certainly are the most argumentative person I have ran across.  I didn't say that I agreed or disagreed with Paul's statement.  I was just pointing out that your statement about Paul was misleading.  It provided no context on Paul's statement.

If you would like to know my stance, I actually disagree with Paul on that specific issue.

  6. I'm not so sure...he did say on the record, I believe that he would not have sent troops to fight the Nazis. Now whether he ultimately would or would not have had he been President at the time we can only conjecture but that's what he said.

That is only partially correct.  Paul was talking about his non-interventionist stance when confronted with the question as to whether he would have committed us to war to save the Jews.  His answer was that he would not.  Your statement is misleading.

  7. That was Steve Miller Band and I actually think he say's "Deuce".  And "revved up" not "wrapped up". Doesn't sound like it though.

No, Manfred Mann's Earth Band, and yes, it is revved up like a deuce.  I had to look it up one day because it does sound like wrapped up like a douche.  I dislike this song too.

  8. While I was at the gym yesterday, a song came over the sound system that made me start thinking violent thoughts.  That is how bad I hate it.  It is Far East Movement's "Like a G6."  When I first heard the song a while back, I thought they were saying "like a cheese stick."

Thankfully, I was just about done with my workout, so I didn't miss much when I just walked out of the gym when the song came on.

  9. I have no idea what the spots are, but I wouldn't worry about them.   My ZT0300 has some slight discoloration for hard use, and it is not a blem.  They all are really nice knives, but they aren't really collector grade.  I would just use the heck out of the knife.

  10. I finally made it to the range today to break in my new Gen4 G19 that I have had for 6 months.  I didn't have any problems with mine today.  I will keep this thread in mind going foward and see if anything ever comes of my G19.

  11. I received my new knife today.

Some of you Special Forces guys may have earned this knife, which is known as the Yarborough.

Named after Lt. Gen. William P. Yarborough, who is known as the “father of modern Special Forces,” the 12.5-inch combat utility knife began as a simple dinner conversation between Yarborough and Lt. Gen. Doug Brown about the need for a standard knife for Special Forces. Yarborough wanted Special Forces Soldiers to have a distinct edge blade weapon like their ancestors in World War II.

Beginning in August 2002 every Soldier who graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course, part of the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, was issued the Yarborough Knife with its own serial number, and signed a special record book along with the most elite members of the United States Army, including Yarborough himself. The knife was also initially available for current Green Berets and Special Forces veterans.

Distribution of the Yarborough Knife was discontinued in 2004, after roughly one-thousand knives were issued. Maj. Gen. Thomas R. Csrnko, commanding general of USAJFKSWCS, reinstituted the issue of the knife, and was the first to sign for the new blades in 2008, with each knife now containing a serial followed by the limited edition number of its blade.

As each Green Beret crosses the stage upon graduation of the SFQC, he receives a legacy of the Brotherhood of Special Forces, signing in the pages of an illustrious history, shared by a select few. Only a few short years after its conception, the honor of the Yarborough Knife has now become almost as large of a part of the heritage and tradition of Special Forces as the Green Beret, and has also been shared with a small number of dignitaries such as President George W. Bush.

The knife I have is the civilian version, known as the Green Beret.  I already had the 5.5 inch Green Beret, so when I ran across this 7 inch model at a fantastic price, I had to have it.  Chris Reeve makes some of the finest production knives available, and this knife is no exception.  For those interested in a moderately priced fixed blade that will pretty much last you a lifetime and withstand hard use, I would highly recommend one of these.

(edit) - I just noticed that Chris Reeve Knives won the 2013 Blade Show Manufacturing Quality Award.  That is 11 in a row and 13 out of the last 14 years.  I think that says a lot about their knives.

  12. Here is what I had a friend pick up for me,  a RMJ Tactical Feather Kestrel.

    20130603121406.jpg

The weight 1.175 lbs, and it is totally badass.  In the right hands, which are not mine, it is one serious best not **** with me tools.  Everyone that has handled it is amazed at how light it is.

The same friend picked up a Medford Praetorian Ti.  That is one huge knife.  I will post some pics of it later.

  13.  As to TGO; I would suggest that you are incorrectly and inappropriately confusing animosity with disagreement about societal issues.

I believe I am intelligent enough to discern the difference.  It is one of the reasons why I pretty much stay out of religious discussions.  On matters of faith, I have pretty much taken the stance that if people leave me alone, then I will leave them alone.

  14. I started this thread for everyone to post their goodies they got from the Blade Show.  Unfortunately, I will have to post mine tomorrow since I have yet to receive it.  After seeing Steve's thread on RMJ Tactical, I had to have one.  It will be my SHTF tool as well as taking it backpacking/camping.  I almost got a Berserker as well, but I thought better of it.

  15. My question is; what posts are you talking about - in what posts has this church been getting "mockery, hate speech, demonetization" because I must have missed them.

I've seen many posts disagreeing about the BSA's decision but I haven't seen anyone here suggest that this church or any other doesn't have the right to no longer support their particular BSA troop nor have I seen posts that are mocking, hateful or demonetizing this church for their decision.

Robert, the internet is rife with what I am talking about.  In regards to TGO, there is clearly animosity towards Christians by certain individuals.  If you can't deduce it from the posts being made (not just in this thread), then I cannot help you because you will never see it.
