I know it isn't necessary, but I would be willing to up my price by 10 - 15% to act as a gratuity to the one(s) who handles all the administrative detail and frustration. They way I view this is that we wouldn't even have this opportunity if someone didn't initiate and oversee it, so they might as well be thanked.

I tried, on this forum, to raise concern about an Obama second term in relation to gun control legislation (not to mention the Supreme Court) but there were still more than a few folks here who said they were not going to vote for Romney because he wasn't any better on gun control (he was the only candidate who had already voted for an AWB; totally ignoring Obama's record in Illinois) or Romney wasn't "this' or wasn't "that". I'm not saying that is why we wound up with Obama in a second term again but my point is that however weak Romney might have been on gun control issues I seriously doubt we would have seen a push from the White House for new gun control either such as we've seen since Sandy Hook.
All Obama needed was an excuse and Sandy Hook provided that in spades.
You are right, however..if liberals retain control of the Senate and get control of the House you can kiss whatever few liberties we have left "good-by"...we'll be wishing for the days when we only had to fight Obamacare.
None of that really matters. Romney could have gotten every single vote from the TGO community, and he still would have lost. Tennesse was never in play, so it was safe to vote for what you believe.
As far as statists (I refuse to use the word liberal because I do not consider it to be an accurate description) regaining control of everything, yes, we would lose our liberties at a faster pace. However, I would argue, as I did on another thread, is that some Republicans are pushing for this crap too. Would Romney have pushed for stronger gun control after Newtown? There is no way to answer that question; it is pure speculation. I would point out that it was Toomey (R) along with Manchin was pushing for expanded background checks. McCain, Flake, Graham, and Rubio (all Republicans) are the ones pushing this immigration crap. The Republican controlled Congress won't do anything of real substance regarding Obamacare, and in fact, they are pushing to further fund one of its provisions.
If we keep supporting self-proclaimed conservatives out of fear of the other guy, we will never resolve the situation. We will continue to lose our freedoms, albeit more slowly. As long as we keep voting for them, the establishment is going to continue pushing weak (RINO) candidates in their delusion of appealing to a broader base.
I think DeMint had it right when he stated said that he would rather serve in the minority in a small, ideologically conservative Senate Republican caucus than in the majority with a large group of centrist Republicans. The second part of his statement dealt with Rubio, which I disagree with.
I believe the only reason this didn't pass was some senators fear of not being reelected next year. If so many weren't up for reelection, it more than likely would have passed. I will also point out that a lot of those weak-a$$ politicians are going to use this issue next year to incite fear in the voters. If you don't vote for me, the other guy is going to do this or that. Until Republicans, outside of Paul, Cruz, Lee, and a few others, start showing me something, I am pretty much done with them.

I have some very expensive 1911s and I also own Glocks. All of my guns, outside of target 22s, get carried, and I would have absolutely no issues training with any of them. In fact, the gun I have actually trained with on several occasions was a >$2k Nighthawk Custom 2011. Hell, I even carry that gun in a Kydex holster. That said, I will maintain what I own.
There is absolutely no way that I would ever submerge my Glock in mud or run over it with a car just to prove it will still function. I will leave those actions to those who have more money than brains.

Republicans have voted at least 30 times to repeal The Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. On the surface it appears to be genuine, but we all know it is purely symbolic since it stands absolutely no chance of making it to the Senate floor. When it comes time to put your money where your mouth is, they continue to appropriate money to this act via continuing resolutions, and it now appears that the Republicans are trying to shore up money for one of the provisions of Obamacare. What gives?
Based on everything I have seen since the inception of the act, it appears that the Republican leadership have no real intention or desire to repeal this act. All of the House leadership's rhetoric and actions are really nothing more than political theater designed to dupe the lower information right-leaning voter. While this strategy has been utilized successfully over the years, it is starting to lose its effectiveness, especially with regards to right-leaning voters.
The Republican leadership needs to take their collective heads out of their a$$es and open their eyes to what is happening within their party. Voters within their party are moving further to the right fiscally, and becoming more libertarian socially. The leadership has become totally disconnected from their base because all they are doing is moving further to the left. We have Toomey pushing for expanded background checks, and Rubio, McCain, and Graham are pushing pseudo-amnesty with their immigration reform. Boehner talks a good game by constantly claiming we have a spending problem, but is ineffectual when it comes time to actually do something about it. If they continue down this path come election time, the Republican Party might as well change their name to the Minority Party.

I am pretty much moderate on some aspects of immigration, meaning I do not want to deport all illegals currently here. However, I do want to stop the flow and secure the border, and I want to get rid of all the enticements and incentives that encourage illegal immigration. I am stunned that the Republicans are so stupid to think by pandering to the hispanic community and offering up amnesty they are going to secure the hispanic vote. The last 40 years of presidential elections states otherwise.

While I couldn't care less about the Republican party, it does pain me to see they have been enacting some really stupid legislation over the last couple of years. Throw in this bill and you basically have legislation that will eventually make Democrats a permanent majority party. When that happens, hello renewed AWB (or worse) which will pass.

Marco Rubio.
For months I have stated my dislike and distrust of Rubio. I have said that he is only a younger version of McCain and those like him. Anyway, it appears the Gang of Eight (McCain, Graham, Flake, Rubio, Menedez, Schumer, Durbin, and Bennett) will be releasing their 1,500 page immigration bill on Tuesday that will more than likely try to be rushed through the Senate. I could be mistaken, but I recall another multiple thousand page piece of legislation that originated in the Senate and was rushed through the legislative process. ;) It didn't turn out so well for the American people. Anytime Schumer is out promoting a bill and stating that it is a balanced approach, you know it is crap.
It is obvious that Rubio has his eye on the presidency for 2016. If Rubio gets the nomination, I will more than likely be voting third party again. Hillary is going to be almost impossible to beat in 2016, and if the GOP keeps promoting the same ol' crap, it is pretty much guaranteed defeat. A pile of excrement in a bright new shiny package is still nothing more than a pile of excrement.

Congrats. That should be a great concert. I was big Megadeth fan growing up, and still listen to them from time to time especially the Friedman era. I was never all that much of a Maiden fan, and even though it is hated by most Maiden fans, I would have to say that Wasted Years is probably my all time favorite metal song. I can listen to it over and over and never get tired of it. Everything about it just seems perfect.

I would agree that this is pretty skewed. However, they are not wrong when they claim liberalism is about personal freedom. In a classical definition, that would be a correct statement. The problem is that many people who claim to be liberal are not. Most are very authoritarian, which can also be said of many who claim to be conservative. They would be more appropriately labeled as socialists or statists.

Never built an AR, but it doesn't seem that complicated. I would be interested in building a SBR. It might as well be a TGO SBR, so I will commit to one. If we don't get enough orders for the minimum, I will up it to two to try and help out.

I find the italicized line above interesting because a butter knife in the right hands could constitute a deadly blade.

The government will eventually make a move on retirement accounts. However, it won't be right now. This is part of Obama's budget, and his last budget was rejected 97-0. Obama is unable to get anything through Congress. The only way he can do anything is through executive order, and this is something he can't do on his own.

I would love to know all the details to this story. It seems extremely bizarre. Now that he is more than likely going to jail, he will be able to get all the lovin' he desires. He won't even have get anybody drunk.

While the media may cover this up for political reasons, I view this a little bit different than some of you. I don't focus any attention to the method used to kill these people. The nut job could have used a gun, axe, or anything else, and achieved the same result. Murder is murder. Give him the death penalty and move on to the next case.

Yeah, I am amazed at the level of stupidity some of these politicians display. Three points:
1. It shows you how unfairly they treated Palin. Compared to some of these people, Palin's intelligence could be equated to that of Einstein.
2. It shows you the degree of stupidity of a lot of the American public. They are the ones who vote these jerks in office. As George Carlin would say, "Garbage in. Garbage out."
3. Her comments were some of the dumbest I have heard from a politician. I would go so far to say they are lower than Bidenesque. About the only thing I have heard from a politician in recent years that was worse was Hank Johnson's inquiry on Guam capsizing.

The bottom line is the media and various politicians or political hacks are going to blame the NRA or whoever else for the loss on the gun control battle. While the NRA most certainly did its part, the MSM and politicians cannot and will never admit the truth, which is that the people do not support such legislation. Doing so would destroy their entire narrative. This can be said about any piece of unpopular legislation.

I think it would be a good idea if the admins reread it as well. I got irritated because one of the admins, I won't mention any names, obviously took your proposal as a rule and edited my post when I made the two pejoratives McLame and Grahamnesty. Then they proceeded to make a big deal over it and directed to me to this thread. Based on the things I have read on this forum, McLame and Grahamnesty are incredibly mild, and they are more than likely something one would hear from any of the top right-leaning talk radio hosts. Getting busted over something so mild and the way it was handled is what set me off. This was not something I instigated.
That said, I will admit that I was in the wrong fame of mind when I read the OP, and I completely overlooked the word "propose." If I would have caught it, I more than likely would not have posted in this thread, but instead would have sent a message to the admin asking them to reread the OP in this thread. Therefore, I was wrong, and I apologize for getting rather animated.

I am not all that concerned about Republicans losing the house in 2014. I think they will hold that one. As far as the senate goes, the GOP has a decent chance of regaining control considering 10 of the 20 senate Democrat seats are fair game. It all comes down to the type of candidates that are nominated. If they employ the same "most electable" strategy they used the last two elections, they will more than likely lose.
