  1. I posted this link in the politics section, but figured I would share it here as well as it goes along with the topic at hand. I apologize if it has already been posted else where. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/46316454/ns/today-today_rossen_reports/

  3. Have the gun shops been recommending another option they just happen to have in stock?... I have one but only 200 rounds down range. It's been great and I have plenty of confidence in it. I have a G17 as well and they both serve as my night stand/home defense package. It's fun to shoot and pretty accurate. IMHO, finding one will be the most trouble you have with this one. I got my off of gunbroker after waiting patiently for one to pop up. The other nice thing is Kel-Tec as a lifetime warranty if it did "fall apart after 500 rounds." I have seen their service first hand in a PMR-30 and they are top notch. Good luck and if you have any more questions feel free to ask. Rebels010
  4. Thanks man. I've done this already with a .22 suppressor, but I didn't follow up or check like I should because I just planned on waiting 6 months. There ended up being an issue, and if I would have been following up I would have recieved it sooner. Just want to make sure that doesn't happen this time. Should be here in plenty of time to enjoy the warm shooting weather and get ready for hunting season next year.
  5. Do you have the appropriate number for me to call?
  6. I checked my bank account and my check showed up as cashed for today. Mailed it last Monday and it is already hitting my bank account one week later. Seems quick to me. So for those more educated on this process, what and when do I need to start checking in on this to complete this timeline? What are the other steps in the process?
  7. Well, the check is in the mail. I will provide another post on when my check clears. Now, to get my G26 sold and finish up the 300 Blackout build in the mean time. Idle hands are the devil's workshop, so I will need to keep myself busy over the next 6 months.
  8. 556or762, I also have a mite for my savage mkII (and 10/22 and P22) but haven't got to shoot it much because testing it at the range is pointless. I will get to test it and hunt with it quite a bit over Christmas though. For your savage is the CCI's been the best choice? I only have the winchester sub's to try so far.
  9. My buddy has the stainless steel version, which I was very impressed with just wanted the lighter weight in the titanium. I will give a full report after I get it in and get some rounds down range. Orientalexpress, just give me a shout in the summer and we can set something up.
  10. While I can't take much credit for my first build as my friend did most of the heavy lifting and funded the project I would advise you to take the same route I did if you are or with someones help, is gong to build it from scratch. I would make sure I got a really good upper, lower and barrel. Everything else you can skimp on and then upgrade each month or so as you go. As time went on I added a new grip, match trigger, free float rail, adjustable stock and bi-pod. I would also encourage you to check out AR15.com too. The ammount of used parts for sale on there is crazy and a great way to save on your build. Just have to have some patience. If you were like me, AR's can be intimidating at first, but the more you use and learn one, you find out why they are so loved and actually easy to work with. They call it the evil black rifle for several reasons, it's addicting and can spend your money quick!
  11. I got the paperwork done, just waiting for the police chief to send it back. Not sure if I can wait for 6 months! Working on a 300 blackout upper build and will save up for a 700SPS AAC-SD as well. Will also shoot this on my Grendel too just for noise reduction. Love the QD mounts and how easy it is to make quick changes with it. Only sad part is having to part with other guns to fund the suppressor. Oh well. Will update the thread so that I/we can track the overall time and process from start to finish.
  12. I use Winchester Subs and they have been good. Cycle fine in my 10/22. They won't cycle in my p22, but I don't need subsonic for the p22.
  13. Hornady also makes some low recoil ammo which makes the .243 even more attractive, and maybe even a .308 depending on how significant they tame the recoil.
  14. That's a great point, but at the rate he grows, I still think the .243 will be fine. Maybe need to look into a heavier gun (not synthetic) and a good recoil pad. I was 5'3" and 85LBS as a 13yr old (info taken for the 8th grade football program so that's how I remember). I was EVEN smaller as an 11 yr old and never had any issues with a .243. It has more kick, but I still think he should be fine.
  15. I would have to second the .243. I was 11 when I killed my first deer with one and went on to kill about 25 more with it. While the .223 is fine for deer, I wouldn't use anything less than the .243. It's a proven deer round. She can get a nice bolt action, scope, case and sling with $800.
  16. Rusty, have you been contacted yet for payment? I believe another wave went out today so I was just curious. You have to send pics and a range report when you get it.

    Glocks?

Wow, I'm no longer proud of my glock or mag collection.

    Glocks?

At $349 I would buy it and not look back. You made the right choice. Take the money saved and get some .40 ammo and let lead fly. Enjoy her. Check back in if you want to do some modifications or upgrades, glocks are pretty easy to work on too.
  19. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one intrigued by this pistol. I'm on the list as well, but I'm probably a year or so out. Rusty, you have to give us an update when you get it. I hope and think this one is going to live up to the hype. My last gun I waited a long time for did. (PMR-30)
  20. Boberg XR9-S. After some research, I've drank the koolaid. By the time my name comes up on the list, I will know more from other users if it is everything it claims to be. That's probably a year from now based on current production...One good thing with the list is don't put any money down and you can pass when it's your turn.
  21. I wanted to resurrect this old thread since we can start too many, and I thought some of the old posts were funny considering the gun has finally started shipping. I also thought it should be brought back to life as the majority of the posts are concerning some type of pocket or easily concealable pistol. Most of those threads are also in the 9mm. Why so many posts on pocket 9mm??? Let's be honest, we all want the easy of carry of a LCP or P3AT with the power of a 45. We want the most power that we can comfortably carry. While this gun is no .45, because of the longer barrel you achieve almost the same ballistics as a G26 in a pistol about the same size as a Kahr 380! I'm extremely intigured for that reason alone. The fact that it also has less recoil (most 9mm pistols are so snappy it makes practice miserable), is also a huge selling point. Some people have complained about price at $949. (Your name must be on a waiting list.) From initial reviews of owners is that it is a high quality, well built pistol with only the best material used. The price does not bother me for a pistol I would carry everyday and allow my life to depend on. IF the pistol continues to fufill it's promises of quality and reliability as more people review and test the gun, I would be happy to pay that for it. I would encourage you to take a minute to check out the site, if anything I love to see new AMERICAN innovation. This challenges the mold of handguns as we know it, and benefits us as consumers and firearms enthusiast. Boberg Arms
  22. PF9 is a good but not great pocket carry gun. That includes both back and front pocket. Not nearly as good at the 3AT, but I did it everyday for about a year. It will not be as comfortable as your 3AT though. I would go with another G26 or a G30SF and carry your 3AT as a BUG. I carry a G26 and a P32 as my BUG. For those times I don't have my G26 with me, I always have my "get off me" gun in my back pocket.
  23. Have you tried shooting a glock with a 3.5LB connector? It will still be plastic mush as you described it, but a lighter plastic mush. IMHO, no gun collection is complete without a G19. But again, to each their own.
  24. I load 10 in my mags (G17) when I'm at the range to help stretch the ammo. I also have 10 shot groups as opposed to 17 or 18 for comparison. But like JohnyFox said, I'm also OCD so that's probably the main reason.
