The news of the override was posted in the http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/tennessee-politics-legislation/40161-restaurant-carry-vetoed.html thread at post 409. But considering it is such a long thread and getting a bit off topic at times I will leave this thread open for discussion on the vote and the upcoming House vote.

The part... only deals with crimes commited July 1, 1982 - November 1, 1989 as per 40-35-117. So after that you would still be senteced under whatever the punishment was for the crime at the time you committed the crime. A law doesn't take effect, until it takes effect. Until then whatever the law is, is whatever the law is. You can't break that law and use the excuse...well it was going to be legal in a few weeks.

You can be tried for breaking a law as it existed at the time of the offense, even if the law has since been repealed.

My guess...and it is just that. If Todd can file notice of intent Today or Tuesday, then they should be able to vote on it on Wednesday.

That is in correct. Amendments to the bill changed the effective date to immediately when it becomes law.

On the first passage, the votes for the override have not been posted yet.

So he was the one to change his vote? Orginal Vote 23-9, this vote 22-10 so without the votes being posted for the override yet, does look like one person changed their vote.
