  1. If I thought it would work....I'd say it too....
  2. I agree the clerk is probably the smartest person in the chamber....but the rule everyone has posted says "24 hours" not "the next legislative day". Guess we'll find out soon enough though..
  3. We forget though....we actually have a legal system instead of a justice system....
  4. Nothing for me tonight as I am at work, but this is my long weekend off and the last few days have not been the best to me....so this weekend I definetly plan to partake a bit....
  5. That's it.... See here for more info.... http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/payments.php
  6. The 30 days is true on "normal" phones at least...but I think AT&T has applied different rules to the Iphone since day one...but not sure if it would be in this case or not.
  7. Well I thought that was the point of the lawsuit and the "guns and alcohol" don't mix thing all along... Not that guns in the workplace themselves are dangerous, but that guns in a workplace where alcohol is served is dangerous.
  8. Funny this thread was started so as not to be off-topic in thread it was first mentioned in....and now this thread has nearly as many off-topic post as ones that dicsuss the group......
  9. Yep...and on reason she didn't issue an injunction was because she said they could post. Seems like that would work this time. So that has got me to wondering if the actual end goal is to somehow make places that serve have to post...as was in the bill at one time.
  10. I didn't take it that, but thanks. I have disagreed with the AG on several things, but there are several on here that in the past have pointed out who am I, or any of us to disagree with the AG...lol LOL....ain't it the truth.
  11. Question... When the rules are suspended, does it have to be for a specific purpose? I ask becaue most of the time I've seen them suspended it was for one particular action. So I was just wondering, if that is the case, he may still not be able to call for a vote on it without the 24 hour notice. But...if they are suspended in general, then I guess he very well could. Bandwidth not good enough at work to watch the session...so hope someone is and keeps us updated...
  12. Got ya... Probably wouldn't download much, would just wait till I was home. It's the video that I think about. I have a slingbox at home (although not working now, won't let go of old IP assignment) thought of trying to get it going again or get a new one. If you don't know...slingbox allows you to watch you home TV connection over the web. So that would be a fair amount of data I figure.
  13. I don't think you can view flash on droid phones either. I saw an App fir the droid advertised that would let you view the flash in a seperate window though. My trouble is...not having used a smartphone, not sure what my browsing habits really would be. But considerig there are so many free Wi-Fi spots now (All Mickey D's) not sure how much EDGE/3G surrifing I'd be doing anyway. LOL...real decisive, aren't I? Guess I have a day or two to make my mind up.
  14. FWIW I don't seem him being speaker next session...assuming he even gets re-elected to the House.
  15. To note... I have a Motorola Z9 now.....I tether by using it as a modem and I fould the dial-up string I need to use online somewhere. So I don't pay for the tethering I do now....on the very rare occasions I do.
  16. That is something I've thought about as well... But....I don't tether that much and I guess I just wouldn't if I was that worried about going over. So not sure that should be the main factor in figuring out what to do. But don't you surf the "normal" web with an Iphone? If so doesn't it use about as much data as if a laptop was tethered to it? However if I have done without a smartphone for this long...worst case may be get the 3gs now, lock in the unlimited, then in 2 years upgrade to the 4g.
  17. Thanks... That is what I'm wondering about the most...what exactly does the 4G do, that the 3Gs doesn't. I still have the episode of "App Judgement" saved on my Tivo that deals with the MiWi app....
  18. Although not showing on their website today (it was yesterday) Wal-Mart is selling the 16gb Iphone 3Gs for $99. As a tech show I watched said, presumably getting ready for the release of the new 4G soon. I'm going to guess the 4G will be around the same $200-$300 as the 3Gs was/is, if not more. (Which don't really have that much extra at the moment) This would be my first smart phone...so I think I would still be "impressed" even if there was a newer one that came out. But the one real motivational factor on maybe getting the 3Gs now is, AT&T is changing their data plans for smart phones on Monday. Right now you can get unlimited data for $30/month. Starting Monday it will be $25 for 2gb or $15 for 200mb. They have said all that have the unlimted already will be able to keep it. So that is one reason I've thought about trying to get that in place before then. Now honestly I have no idea if 2gb would be enough. AT&T says it will be for about 98% of its users. I don't live in a 3G area...so I figure most of my heavy data consumption would be when I'm on Wi-Fi anyway....so 2gb could be enough. However on my trip out west last one place we stayed Wi-Fi wasn't free and I was able to tether my current phone to my laptop (in a 3G town) and it worked out pretty good. However I'm not sure if I would have done that if I didn't have an unlimted data plan on my non-smart phone. Of course that is only a far-and-few-between occurence for me...so not sure I should make a decission based on that. You can tether a jail-broke 3Gs, but it looks like the 4G will be able to tether, but not sure if that is included in the $25/$15 per month. ..and as I said above...I don't usually need to tether much anyway. Ok..sorry..forgive my ramble. My main question is...would you go ahead and get a cheap 3Gs or wait for the new 4G?
  19. I guess one reason I have always that this too is because 39-17-1319(d)(1)(F) says that even a juvenile can poses a handgun as long he/she has permission from the property owner and his/her parent or legal guardian permission. So if a juvenile can with permission...why not an adult?
  20. I never thought that part of 39-17-1305 applied to all business directly...I just thought the exception was in there since it was otherwise a specific law that made it illegal. So that despite that, the owner could still give permission. Just like a judge can make exceptions to possession in his courtroom, despite a law against it. So since there is no specific law that says you can't carry at OhShoot's house or XYZ Gun range...that there is not a need to make a specific note allowing the owner to give permission. Now a principal can't give you permission to carry at school because the law that prevents it doesn't allow him to. Of course....hmmmmm....I admit there is nothing specific in 39-17-1308 that gives a property owner other than you being on your own a defense to 39-17-1307.
  21. Well I'm normally fairly pessimistic myself...just trying not to be in this case. But I admit I'd be lying if I said I was 100% confident.
  22. Maybe you mean as long as they are legally allowed to poses a firearm, not necessarily carry. ..and I agree, you can't give a felon permission to carry on your property, because they can't legally poses a firearm.
  23. Good boss... As far as if you needed a HCP as long as you had the manager's permission, see this thread.... http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handgun-carry-self-defense/40878-if-you-have-permission-property-owner-do-you-need-handgun-carry-permit.html
  24. I have thought about this for a little while, but this thread got me to thinking about it again... http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handgun-carry-self-defense/40871-i-like-my-new-boss.html In the above thread the OP mentions that he showed his HCP to his new boss the boss has given him permission to carry. Without considering that the HCP may have helped the boss make the decision, because of the training etc.. that goes with it.... I have always thought if you had the permission of the property owner (business or private) that you could carry on that property with out a HCP or anything. One example is a gun range, now granted the deal with guns...but AFAIK there is exception in 39-17-1307 because of that. Another is when you go over to your friend's field for some shooting. Thoughts, ideas....lawyers.....
