  1. they are... But there was a period of a few mintues where they weren't....
  2. They're back to business now...
  3. Not sure what is going on in the House right now. They did vote on the last bill in the Regular Calendar (not sure if any were rolled to later or not) Video still up, people walking around....but that's it.
  4. I see no reason the Senate shouldn't get it done today...but as well all know we've not always seen what was coming till after it was done (not done) either.... Worriedman is probably right about it being next week in the House. Senate overrides today, Todd files notice to override in the House today/tomorrow and then it comes up in one of the sessions next week.
  5. I thought of that after I posted....could be right, but like I said it still doesn't all go in their pockes..... I have always wondered how the "average" citizen could be in the legislature. I mean on the surface at least, it doesn't seem to pay enough for it to be your only source of income, but with the schedule that is required from Jan-May/June not sure how you could work another "regular" job.
  6. If the House keeps going on and on like now...they "could" still be on the floor when the Senate votes, but I still would doubt it will come up in the House today.
  7. I don't think they get that $1000 for months they are not in session, do they? But even if they do, not all of it goes in their pockets obvisioully... Here is an article about the pay in the (cough cough) Commercial Appeal... Per diem pay tops legislator salaries
  8. Don't see how....House still has 3 legislative days after today...
  9. Actually the 90 days are 90 days of "Floor Sessions" they go to and/or are in Nashville many more days than that, for committee meetings etc... But those days aren't "Legislative days" for ther pupose of the $141
  10. Probably not late enough today, but they have 3 more days they can meet.
  11. I may have been wrong, see Capbyrd post. But they are considered "part-time"
  12. Should in the Senate, not feeling good about the House because of the timing.
  13. Senate in Recess till 11:30 (central)
  14. Noticed that too....and do wonder.....
  15. Well that was before I knew everyone had to say bye to each other......
  16. FWIW, House back in session and on House Message Calendar (2) which only has one bill, then they will go to the Regular Calendar, which only has 5 bills. So looks like house could be adjourned before the senate even starts, if they don't get going soon.
  17. Wonder if they are working out how to move SB3012 to the House quicky? One can always hope anyway...
  18. Shouldn't be too long actually...looks like a lot, but it's not really Just the "Tennessee Senate" Screen right now.
  19. Shouldn't be too long. See post 279
  20. In theory I'd say Yes, if the house suspends the rules. Well at least as far as being overridden, not sure how long to sign it and it be in effect. I did wonder if something like that might happen when the House recessed until 10:00 "to get in sync with the Senate"
  21. It's time...but they never start on time...lol
  22. LMAO..... There is lots of stuff that doesn't get attention. Also the stuff that does get attention...well there are groups that certain bills interest, like us and firearms, but in general I don't think most of the state has a clue as to what is going on...or cares....
  23. Can only go by what your told....which is a bit scary....lol
  24. Senate Floor Session Scheduled for 10:00am (Central) today. Tennessee General Assembly::Streaming Video According to their rules, here is the order of business... As a side note, the streaming video page is showing this as the 89th Legislative day for the Senate and the 87th Legislative day for the House. So the Senate has 1 day after today and the House 3 days.
  25. Sort of like the Nextell commercial with the firemen in congress right? Maybe all just need to get out Nextell phones and head to Nashville? A bunch of TGOers up there would get things done. Not to say we agree 100% all the time....but we'd have our Nextells...so all would be good. The funny thing is, constitutionally all the legislature has to do is approve and pass budget. Other stuff is sort of "extra".
