  4. For $29 you can run a background check on anyone, including yourself through the TBI http://www.tbi.state.tn.us/tbibackgrounds/background_checks.htm Did you appeal your denial? Over half of the denials that are appealed are reversed. On the instant check you may be denied if there is anything that is slightly out of the norm, but if you appeal and the dig into it, then you may be approved. The trouble is the fact that it is reversed does not stay with the TICS, so you could be denied again unless you are able to clear up what ever caused the red flag. Here is a link to the appeals form.
  5. ....and sinker.
  6. Just a little fact, over half of the appealed denied transactions are reversed. See the TICS Stats website Example for 2008 it was 62% 4472 Denials were appealed 2794 Were reversed So just because someone comes back denied doesn't mean that have actually done anything that is disqualifying.
  7. I believe you are right OS. There are only 3 misdemeanors that can keep you from getting a HCP 2 DUI's within 10 years or 1 DUI in the last 5 years 39-17-1351©(11) Domestic Violence 39-17-1351©(16) Stalking 39-17-1351©(18) Once you have a HCP, in addition to the misdemeanors listed above, it can be suspended if you are convicted of any Class A misdemeanor {39-17-1352(f)(1)}. But even then after the term of the sentence is up, you can pay a $25 reinstatement fee and get your HCP back.
  8. ....said the 24 year old to the 19 year old.....
  9. I can't say for sure, but I'd say, without a permit, No. Because a handgun is not required or used to fish. Now if you had a knife and was using it for cleaning the fish, then I think it would be legal to have the knife.
  10. If I understand all of this right, here is my take..... A private transfer (gift, trade or sell) of a firearm (handguns and long guns) between two residents of the same state does not require a FFL. A private transfer (gift, trade or sell) of a firearm (handguns and long guns) between two residents of different states does require a FFL. If you want to acquire (gift, trade or sell) a Handgun from an out of state source (Private or FFL) it must go though a FFL of your state of residence. If you want to buy a Long gun from out of state, you can buy it directly from a FFL in the state you purchase it, but not from a private party.
  11. Only $470 through Georgia Arms... http://georgia-arms.com/new40smithandwesson155grgolddothollowpointp1000pk.aspx I have been trying to get a couple of Super High Capacity (29rd) mags for my Glock 32 for a while. No vendor on here seems to have them, have had a WTB post for a while. Glock Store has them, but was trying to find them a bit cheaper than they have them for. Also I would like to get me an AK, but with the current political atmoshphere, worried they are going for a bit higher than what they are actually worse. Of couse...probably only going to go up from here...

  14. I believe that is right. The reason I only mentioned handguns in the one post, was I was thinking back to a thread where we had already discussed a gift of a handgun between relatives in two states.
  15. Of course you can legally loan a firearm to someone from any state. Not sure what happens if they forget to ask it for it back or your forget to take it back....
  16. Not if you buy a long gun in person from a FFL. Not really sure about gifts... http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/faq2.htm#b1 B2) From whom may an unlicensed person acquire a firearm under the GCA? [Back] A person may only acquire a firearm within the person’s own State, except that he or she may purchase or otherwise acquire a rifle or shotgun, in person, at a licensee's premises in any State, provided the sale complies with State laws applicable in the State of sale and the State where the purchaser resides. A person may borrow or rent a firearm in any State for temporary use for lawful sporting purposes.
  17. If it's a handgun, legally it would need to go through a FFL.
