  1. Thanks Anyone else?...
  2. After you get through why they think the way the think and reaffriming what they see as a right...I think the meat of it is Sec 3©(1) allowing you to sue the goverment (federal or state) if they have in any way kept you from being able to use a firearm to defend yourself.
  3. Keep us updated...
  4. Interesting....but probably has a snowball's chance.......
  5. Hmmmm...if I was a commissioner (or even not actually) I would like to know what this attorney thinks a person could be charged with.
  6. I am looking at getting a TiVo as opposed to DVR from my cable company. Best I can tell by comparing things, it will be cheaper, in my case at least. I have extended basic (3-71) cable so looking at a TiVo Series 2DT DVR I think the Free TiVo Desktop software will let me copy shows to my Laptop and/or PDA. Don't think I can burn a show to a DVD with that software, but I have other DVD burning software, that maybe I can use(although that is not a high priority). One thing I am curious about is I have Window XP Media Center Edition on my computer. I downloaded a program that let me edit files recorded with MCE,(cut out segments and such) not sure if TIVO files will open in MCE or not. Some things I read on the web say yes, some say no. Any advice or input is appreciated.
  7. Have a great time....
  8. Who can forget the video of them knocing the little old lady to floor, in her own home, while trying to take her gun?!?!?
  9. Actually it's legal in any state your permit is valid in, not just the state of issue.
  10. I agree this guy was the main one at fault, but I think he was probably awarded what he was...one, because his boss was one of the people that dared him to do it and two, because it was large, faceless company being sued. Your point that a jury can do some of the dumbest things is well taken, but not sure the above case is real comparable to a SD shooting.
  11. I don't see how it could be any violation of state law. Wonder if he meant it would violate some local ordnance or zoning regulation or something like that?
  12. No worries... Those that said this is good discussion are not all wrong either. Court cases are always a good reference. Have a great weekend!!
  13. I don't think that is right, how do you come to that? If you are talking about the rule change, the rule change actually allows a state to pass a law against carry in National Park in that state if they want to. AFAIK the federal rule change does not affect any state laws in regards to carry in state parks.
  14. ....and you thought it was going to be just another boring day.. Hope you recover fast brother....
  15. Well to me the situation of someone walking and spraying the store with gun fire, even if you were the only person in there I think you would be justified. The only reason I even mentioned 3rd person is if for some reason you didn't feel that you were in immediate danger I think it would be reasonable to think others were in danger. AFAIK 3rd person is just as you say any person besides you and the BG....whether it is a relative or total stranger.
  16. Memories....first handgun I had was a Llama .357 magnum...and got it at Wal-Mart of all places, my how times have changed over 20 years, huh? Oh...and just for the record, in TN it Handgun Carry Permit, it allows to carry Open or Concealed. Look forward to hearing about the class and the day when the permit comes in.
  17. Welcome Yep...pretty great place I think.
  18. I do at home....but I'm at work right....just have it memorized too.
  19. I'm not Patrick, but yes, the law says you can use force to defend a 3rd person just as if it was yourself. Notice the term reasonable again.....
  20. To simply answer your queston, Yes...there is a chance All-be-it an infinitecimal one. I don't think any resonable person, would find it unreasonable that you feared for your life (or at the very least the life of a 3rd person) in that situation.
  21. On this issue, I would for sure go to jail. As far as giving my life, it would not be what I wanted, I would try to avoid it, but if it was unavoidable, I would not feel it was in vain.
  22. I agree on the statements about reasonable MG. What I was saying just as the person who called 9-1-1 about the neighbor's dog barking thought it was an emergency. You may have someone on here say that if a person is saying they are going to kick their but, it is reasonable to them to shoot them. Which I don't think much of us would think is reasonable. So the answers recieved from asking for advice or specifics on this need to be taken with a grain of salt, is what I am trying to say.
