  1. I think the answer to your question is simply, No. The reason I think so is in 39-17-1305, 39-17-1306, 39-17-1309 & 39-17-1311 they all say either firearm or weapon and do not mention it having to be loaded. So simply broke down, especially with the ammo in your possesion would seem to be still considered possesion of the weapon. In fact according to 39-17-1301(15) if the ammo is still in the immediate vicinty of the weapon, it is still considered loaded.
  2. 30.06 signs are TX in TN the code is 39-17-1359. Not to sidetrack things, but from what I know of it TX code is pretty strict on how the sign has to look, wording etc... I know when I was in Houston last year and saw one, there was no doubt what it was telling you.
  3. Well there is time limit by law on new applications, but not on renewals. So wouldn't be surprised if new applications get priority.
  4. Here is the page where you can follow the progress of it if you want.
  5. HB0082/SB0019 added to OP
  6. Tough decision. My job is not going much of anywhere either, plus at times I feel I need a new environment. However I have been looking more at TX, would be hard to go to such a restrictive state as CA, but sometimes you got to do what you got to do.
  7. I don't even know what to say.....my first thoughts should probably not be posted in a public forum.
  8. I'm not sure, but I think the main reason for this is the 30 days your sheriff has to report back on your application. The sheriff doesn't have to report back, so I guess sometimes the DOS waits the whole 30 days for him/her to get back to them. If you got your permit quick, maybe your sheriff reported back quickly. If you call, knowing many sheriff's don't ever report back, they go ahead and issue it. The law says if one is issued before all background checks comes back, it can be revoked if disqualifying background information comes in later. So I guess they are sort of just taking a gamble. **This is not based on any information received from any agency or a representative thereof, just my observations of what people have posted on different gun forums.
  9. Doesn't the Highway Dept by the right of way to make highways and interstates? If so the land that the roadway is on belongs to them and the park system.
  10. From handgunlaw.us TN page (Bottom of page 3)
  11. Welcome
  12. We'll see. There are many pro-gun dems in the state house, it has always been believed that if many of the bills that were killed in committee had made it to the floor, they would have passed. So while maybe he didn't get in the speaker's seat by the most up and up means and he isn't the one that most of us wanted there....he may not the worst thing in the world either.
  13. Well that is about all I can stand to watch today...... Gone for a little while.....
  14. DeBerry Speaker Pro Tem So much for a Republican House

  16. Wow....got quite in here. Of course guess we all are a little stunned (I know I am) and are still trying to catch our breath and figure what happened.....and what is going to happen next.

  18. New thread http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16068
  19. From his speach...it sounded like he would at least let more bills go to the floor for votes instead of being killed in commitee.... That would be better at least.
  20. Williams is saying he may not be a Repbulican much longer.........
  21. Yeah, Odom said he that when he nominated him....I started wondering what was going on then....
  22. ...at least we now know why the motion to cut off nominations...
