  1. Bought this watch a few weeks ago and am just moving on to something else. I keep going back to the Apple Watch….. In great shape with no scratches to the glass. Come with the original band as well as a Barton Silicone Elite band. $180 shipped or FTF in the West TN / Collierville area.
  2. Good stuff! I had no idea they weren’t tubeless. The Shoei is definitely requiring some break in but I’ve been told it will get there. The ratchet and strap seem to hit right on the adams apple.
  3. So I went to a local shop and looked at each of the helmets you guys mentioned above. I had actually settled on an HJC i100 modular but they only had one left in my size (the display) and it was a few years old. The owner talked me in to trying on a Shoei GT Air II which felt amazing. Since the Air 3 is out now, he made me a great deal on it. I am still in the break in period but am really liking the way it fits and love the ratchet chin strap system. For $100 more than what the HJC cost, I am very happy. I do wish it was modular but I couldn’t pass up the deal. I’ve also got a short list of a few more items I’d like to get for the daily commute but I rode it in this morning and loved it.
  4. Took it out for a longer ride this evening and can confirm that a taller windshield will add to the comfort 100%. As it is now, the wind buffeting is pretty rough at highway speeds. Since my helmet is a few years out of date, I’ll likely just get a moderately price full face. After some research today, I agree with you folks. Full face is better for the health of my face.
  5. I just ordered a taller windshield. I bet that will help tremendously based on what YouTube shows. Apart from that, I’m gonna go hit the local wildlife preserve area.
  6. So having been a cruiser with windshield kind of guy I am used to wearing half helmets. Using that helmet on this bike leaves me feeling vulnerable to face strikes and excessive dust and crap in my face. Can you give me some helmet advice? I’m leaning towards a 3/4 with a screen. I have a full face but it’s not the best fitting and is a little on the cheaper side. I don’t really like the feeling of being in a bubble. I’m hoping 3/4 will preserve at least some of the connection to the outside. I guess maybe I could just buy a taller windscreen.
  7. Wellllllll, I ended up just buying a new Kawasaki KLR650 today. Had it marked down since it is a 2023. Travel package with ABS.
  8. The earlier DL-650 sold but I am going in tomorrow to sell one of our cars so I will have a bit more budget to work with. Looking at some of the newer models in the $4000-$50000 range. How are these things in the rain? I’m hoping to make it into a daily commuter.
  9. Large tornado ran a few miles south of us in Moscow about 15-20 minutes ago. They called it a tornado emergency which is about as bad as it gets from what the weatherman was saying.
  10. I see a 2008 dl650 relatively close by that I may go look at.
  11. Luckily I still have all of my good jackets and helmets. I honestly hadn’t thought of the more upright bikes. I know I don’t want a sport bike. I will want some sort of bags or compartment at minimum and I’d like something the wife could ride along on for short trips around the house. I could push the budget up a bit for the perfect bike but would still be choosy.
  12. Within the next month or two I am likely going to start looking for a used motorcycle for commute/leisure. Budget will likely be around $2500-$3000 tops. Would prefer around $2000. From previous experience with my Suzuki Boulevard, I know I want a 6 speed for highway comfort. My commute is about 30 -35 minutes mostly highway. Apart from that, I am looking for some advice. I think I would prefer a windshield. Smaller 600 or 750 is fine. What would you other riders lean towards?
  13. Honestly, I’d rather just continue on as is at this point. My guess is that they likely won’t react favorably and take signs down. They’d probably be more likely to add metal detectors if that’s what is required to comply. It’s a great zoo and my boy loves to go. Memberships are cheap and concealed is concealed. Totally get where you are coming from but I’ve lost faith in many of those in positions of decision making and power.
  14. They do. And they don’t have metal detectors………
  15. Thanks for all the offers folks. I believe I have secured something that will work for me!
  16. Thanks. Being in the West side of the state isn't great for my classified options! I'll probably go pick up a Savage Axis or Ruger American if I don't get a bite soon. .243 is my preference. I've already got the Marlin 336 in the safe for him to use later on but it would probably put him on his tail now. He's really just beginning to hunt with me and we are shooting my way to heavy suppressed 6.5 Creedmoor.
  17. I have one on my American. It started out as a .308 but I've since changed the barrel to a heavy custom 6.5 creedmoor. The stock is a good bit heavier than the original but I was going for that. If you are going for a lighter package, maybe look elsewhere. But, if you want a nice stick to soak up some recoil, you'll like the Magpul.
  18. Here is your chance at the latest TGO Protech if you missed out! I have determined that I am just not an automatic EDC knife guy and don't want to have such a nice knife sitting in my drawer. I have carried it for a few weeks, opened a few boxes, and cut a few envelopes open. It has no hard usage and hasn't had a sharpener taken to it yet. It will come with everything it came with including a really cool sticker. I am asking what I paid plus $5 for shipping. $235 shipped by Paypal or Venmo.
