Where is the best place to buy MRE's? Jeff
I've had my bushmaster moe for almost two years now. It's a Bushmaster XM15 just like yours. I've put thousands of rounds through it. I would estimate 5k plus or minus a few. It has gotten more accurate the more I've shot it. Some say bc the chrome lining is wearing out and that's why it's becoming more accurate. I've found my best accuracy came from Hornady Vmax 55gr. That's what I used for coyote hunting and deer hunting. So that's what I was using sighting it in with. The majority of the rounds I've ran through it are the steel cased wolf.
I've shot Wolf,WPA steel cased through mine. It's fairly accurate, but sticks in the chamber when it gets hot.I don't know how many rds. mine has had through it,the bore looks great though. As far as accuracy I guess I'm just used to bolt gun accuracy. You just always hear people talk about how accurate AR's are, guess I'm expecting too much.
With factory ammo 1" at 100 yards is pretty damn good. I would say yours is average with factory ammo for most AR's out there. Might try a few other brands to see if it improves. Now with handloads it is a completely different story. It is possible to cut groups substantially with handloads. One of my AR's shoots consistent 2" groups at 100 yards using factory ammo. It will shoot .75" groups using my handloads. And you can't compare a Savage to an AR. Almost any Savage will shoot circles around any AR. I mean my 223 Savage shoots .3" groups with handloads. Dolomite
What powder and weight bullet are you using?
-
The groups just seems like they aren't consitant, sometimes one here, one there, not tight..Barrel may need a good cleaning.I'm gonna try some more different ammo and loads. Jeff

Just wondering what size of groups people are getting form their AR15's with scopes?I've got a Bushmaster XM15 E2S model AR 16" bbl, flat top with a Nikon Prostaff 3x9x40 scope.I've shot some PMC bronze and loaded some Sierra 69 grain Match Kings with 25 grains of IMR4320.About the best group I've got is 2 inches.I can shoot these from my Savage model 10 Precision Carbine ,and Stevens model 200 .223's and get around 1/2" groups or better.I got the AR used a couple of years ago and just put a scope on it to see what it would do. Savage or a Stevens model 200.You can't beat these for out of the box accuracy! They will shoot 1" or better groups at 100 yards.I have one of each in .223 that will shoot a nickle to a dime 3 shot group at 100 yards. Jeff

RCBS is the best! They will take care of you if you need any replacement parts. Jeff

Yeah, you can buy a plug to replace the safety. Jeff

Yeah,I guess people think the pre safetys are worth a little more. Jeff

No,evervyone is safe.

Gonna buy a Rossi M92 357/38 lever action rifle.I can get a new one for $460 OTD,or have found some used ones for $450 to $500.Which one would be a better rifle one with or without safety? The used ones I've found don't have the safety, but are usually higher price. One with the safety is fine with me.Is there any other advantages to the older presafety rifles? Thanks Jeff

Thanks everybody. Jeff

Just checking to see if other people had this problem,or if it was my dies,They are RCBS,but I've had the problem on all calibers. Thanks Jeff
-
I was loading some .223 ammo today, the overall length would vary a few thousands on some.Maybe .005 on some.I've had this happen on different calibers before.Anybody else have this happen? Thanks Jeff

I found a Rossi M92 357/38 a few months back LNIB for $375.It shoots and functions great.I got a lot of 38's loaded with 158 grain SWC that's fun to shoot. Jeff

I have IMR 4895,4320 and BLC2,Varget,AA 2230,2420.He has some more different brands.I was going to buy some tracers from him to try myself.May try the 4895 then. Thanks Jeff
-
Yeah, that's what I was wanting to know if one powder was better than another just for tracers. My friend said he loaded some 30 cal. tracers before and they wouldn't light up.He didn't know if it was the bullets or not the right powder for them.I use 2230,and IMR 4895 mostly for my .223's. Jeff
-
How about BLC2,IMR4895,AA2230?We would like to use powder we already have. Thanks Jeff
-
A friend of mine bought some 22 cal. 62 or 64 gr.pulled tracer bullets to load for .223's.He wanted to know what was the best powder to load them with?He didn't know if there was a certain powder that would "light" them up better or not. Thanks Jeff

AimSurlpus has the best price on .223 that I've found.1000 rds. of PMC Bronze $331.77 shipped to me. Jeff

So Hodgdon BLC2 is the same?I may pick up a 1 lb. can of that and try it.I been buying some bullets and some powder at Outpost Armory. They are resonable on their reloading stuff I think ,but way too high on their guns and ammo. That's about the closest place to me that sales reloading supplys.I work down that way anyway so it's on the way. Thanks for everyone's input. Thanks Jeff -

I understand that, but I don't want to buy 8lbs. of powder that i've never tried. How much is a pound? Is this a common powder that I could find anywhere that carries powder? Jeff -
