  1. If you don't want to spend big bucks on lessons I would recommend the Todd Bender videos.
  2. Yet another update: The flashlight winner will also receive an Elzetta ZORM mount. See pictures here: IDPA
  3. We have iron and optic divisions. We'll have one stage with targets out to 200 yards. You can only shoot one gun. Since this is a fairly large match we want to be efficient enough so everyone doesn't have to spend all day at the range. This is the first match ever at GRGC where we are using both ranges. There will be plenty of shooting.
  4. We basically use IDPA pistol rules and scoring with a few exceptions. Mags are loaded to 20 rounds. Stage round counts and movement can exceed IDPA max. Use of cover and tactical priority is required.
  5. The front page of our website now has a link to the pre-registration form for the rifle match. Green River Gun Club
  6. Elzetta is donating a ZFL-M60 flashlight for us to give away at our night match again this year. Keep in mind that IDPA rules only allow prizes to be given away randomly so everyone has an equal chance to win. Be sure and support those companies that support the shooting sports. 7. It should be on the front page of our website this coming week.
  8. Another update and shameless bump: Here is a first look at the new T-shirts we had made for our rifle match. These will be available for sale at the match. For those that pre-register and pay in advance you will receive a free shirt. Information on pre-registering will be posted soon.
  9. Update: The September 25th Night Match will be six pistol stages and two rifle stages. Rifle is optional and scored separately. Rifle will be shot after the pistol match.
  10. I'm glad they finally jumped on the bandwagon. I'm sure we'll see some good multi-gun matches in the near future.
  11. That was the only date I could get this year for a rifle match.
  12. Special Matches at GRGC Bowling Green KY in 2010 Green River Gun Club Bowling Green, KY Green River Gun Club International Defensive Pistol Association September 25 - IDPA Pistol Night Match Last year's night match was a big success so we're doing it again this year. Match will be shot after sunset. Flashlights will be required. We will be shooting at least five stages. Since our club has a good number of Safety Officers we WILL be squadding. That means you won't be shooting at midnight. October 30 - Defensive Rifle Match As some of you know we normally shoot a couple of rifle stages after most IDPA pistol matches. A lot of you have told us you want more opportunity to shoot rifle so we're giving it to you. The fifth Saturday of October will be a rifle-only match. We basically follow IDPA pistol rules for our rifle matches with a few exceptions: 1. no concealment required 2. movement can exceed the 15 yard rule 3. magazines are loaded to twenty rounds NOTE: For this match we have received special permission to use BOTH ranges. This means we will have five stages on the Stiles Range PLUS: One large stage on the Main Range which will have 200 yard targets, plenty of movement, and multiple mag changes. Questions?
  13. That's great news. I'm glad you're doing okay.
  14. In addition to what the others have pointed out, RRA uses 4140 barrel steel instead of 4150CMV, no chrome lining in barrel and chamber (optional on some models), 6061 alloy for receiver extension instead of 7075, etc. I just don't see the attraction to RRA.
  15. Thanks for playing by the rules. I wish more clubs did.
  16. The Green River Gun Club in Bowling Green, KY will be having their first IDPA match of the year this Saturday March 27th. Match starts at 9am CST. Setup at 8am. New shooters need to be there by 8:30am for an orientation. There will be five pistol stages and two rifle stages. Cost is $15. Green River Gun Club International Defensive Pistol Association

    Magpul ACS stock

I have one. I currently own Vltor and CTR stocks also. The ACS gives me the cheek weld of the Vltor and the locking capability I like on the CTR. Best of both worlds.

  20. The IDPA division of the Green River Gun Club in Bowling Green KY will be adding more dates and more variety to their 2010 schedule. We will be shooting every fourth and every fifth Saturday (except August) from March until November. Most matches will be five or six pistol stages with either a rifle or shotgun side match. The IDPA classifier will be in July. One month we will have a BUG match. The fourth Saturday of September will be a night match and the fifth Saturday of October will be a rifle match. We will be building a permanent "shoot house" this season. Expect to have a lot of fun when this is completed. Check the website closer to March for complete details: Green River Gun Club International Defensive Pistol Association
  21. Most clubs allow spectators as long as they have eye and ear protection.
