  1. There is a small market out there for lefty uppers and lefty bolt carrier groups, but man o man they are proud of them. Seems Stag arms, DPMS and CMMG are the most available brands.
  2. What he said. I have had mine for about 3 months now and have purchased one gun, but have already saved the price of the FFL a couple of times over with dealer discounts. Midway seems to give the best dealer discounts, however brownells is neck and neck with them.
  3. I have a wasr and do not have a problem with the canted sights or loose mags. However I have found with mine and the ones my buddies have, they seem to not like the poly mags. For the price I can't be happier with mine. A very fun, functional gun.
  4. I never meant for what I stated to become a debate on shooting abilities. However the everyday home/gun owner, unless highly trained by either the military or law enforcement, are not going to be calm, cool and collected enough to make well placed shots. Why else would "safety rounds", those that won't pass through walls, be so popular. I would protect my family and myself at all costs but I'm man enough to admit that I would be scared sh****SS and not sure my hand would be steady enough to "triple tap" the perp.
  5. First stop my wife from getting up and checking on it without her weapon, she has a very bad habit of doing that when we hear things go bump in the night, then grab either my carry gun (pf9) or my 12ga loaded with 00buck and flashlight while she calls 911. If that fails she backs me up with her .38 snub. I'm more like some previous posts "stop the treat first, then shoot to kill if necessary" I've been told by many LEO's and such that carefully placed shots are not usually a sign of someone that was scared of their life being in danger..........just a thought after I saw the "triple tap" post. Of course this may be due to my 38yrs of being "laid back, easy going"
  6. Smith, try this one. I am having a lot of trouble with flickr and photobucket here at work (they are both semi-banned/blocked) This should take you to a full size picture.
  7. Firing pin extended
  8. Personally 4 (today) lol
  9. Best I could do
  10. Picture of?
  11. I just had 2 ftf out of 4 shots with my WASR 10 I looked at the bullet and there was an indention on it. I'm new to ak's so any advice is greatly appreciated
  12. What would be an easy way to add to the length of pull to say..........a youth model gun, without changing the stock or permanently modifying it?
  13. A buddy of mine is looking to do a little work/sighting in of one of his rifles and needs to have a 300yrd+ range. Anyone know of one in the vicinity of Knoxville, Sevierville, ETC. Thanks
  14. Where is it on their site? I took a look-see and found no complete rifle for less than 750, saw kits without the stripped lower for around 465.00
  15. Inrangec2 did an outstanding job
  16. Gearhog (as brought to our attention of another member) has a $15 for $30 worth of products for Joebobs..... *****correction, They are sold out sorry:blush:*****
  17. +1 what he said. I agree parents are not parents any longer. My best friend is a 7th grade teacher and he states the same thing on a daily basis. Too many parents are too lazy and/or caught up with themselves they expect the teachers, afterschool workers or anyone other than themselves to be the authority so that they can be the "cool" parental figure. I would have been falling all over myself apoligizing to you and in the meanwhile busting my kid's a** (which by the way is still legal in TN)
  18. My wife received her HCP last week. Nothing amazing other than fact it got here in 18 actual days from turning her paperwork in. She is now carrying everywhere.
  19. The north Cherokee WMA will allow "incidental" taking of a hog during any big game season with the exception of on the bear preserves doing bear season. It is in cocke county and others along the NC state line. If I understand it, there are a couple of WMA's in Blount county as well with much of the same regs
  20. I found a local AK guy in Sevierville, the name's Troy Sellars of www.inrangec2.com fame. He's in possession of my AK as we speak.
  21. I figured as much . Seems a little redundant though. Thanks for the info
  22. This may be a silly question, but here goes I know that my c&r can be used in lieu of the background check for c&r guns at a gun shop, dealer etc. But can it also be used in the same fashion for guns other than c&r?
  23. I took right at 6 weeks from the time I sent it in to getting it back
