  1. Wonder if I'll get anyone with tomorrow being a holiday
  2. I believe I'll try calling TBI. Just to clear up confusion. I was denied trying to trade on a gun that is not my old duty weapon. Craig's does not have the gun I was denied buying. Two different guns. :) As far as anything on me that may have "popped" up, does a speeding ticket count LOL!, seriously that is all I've had on any type of criminal record.
  3. I was denied on a transaction at buds in Sevierville (trading my 27 for a 26) Craig's in knoxville has my old duty weapon. I haven't called TBI, it's been 4 days.
  4. Would y'all think it a good idea to do ahead and try to purchase my old duty weapon (its at a different FFL) and see if it comes back denied? Like I stated in a previous post they are holding it only till Wednesday before it hits the floor for sale.
  5. we were told that nothing will be held after 10 days. Hoping for something from the department on their letterhead. Of course I read that it has to state it is for work purposes and not personal.
  6. I filed the appeal right then and there and they faxed it in for me. A little back story as to why it bugs me more that it should, Our dept. went to 9mm and I have the opportunity to buy my duty weapon from the vendor that the 9mm's were purchased from. $299 for a nearly new Glock 23 Gen 3 w/night sites and 3 mags but we only have till next Wed to get them before they hit the floor. Arrrrggggghhhhhhhh the wonders of governments. :)
  7. Has anyone had trouble with being denied? I have purchased guns my whole adult life and have never once been denied (there's no cause for it) I'm a sworn reserve police officer, 03 FFL holder, HCP holder, and work for a local government so I have had several background checks, some in depth with local to federal agencies. I am very perplexed with it all. My thoughts are all over the place, "stolen identity", wrong key stroke, etc. This was for an attempted purchase of a handgun yesterday after buying a shotgun two months ago with no problem being approved. Just wondered if anyone else has had this happen.
  8. I've seen one that has "My wife keeps her nose outta my business"
  9. Not sure its been covered or not, but you may want to dig up the inlet side of the tank, pull the inspection lid and see if the pipe has shifted/settled/what have you and actually slid the end of the pipe into the baffle. I've seen it happen several times and all it will take is a strong stomach, clothes pin and a hack saw.
  10. I never wanted one, I just remember them being really cheap back when I first got my 03 FFL. I have a guy I've purchased a couple of C&R weapons from on gunbroker and noticed this last set of firearms he listed had a nagant revolver. It had been listed for just 8hrs or so and had already topped the $200 mark....................... on the same note, my first purchase with my 03 was a mosin nagant hex and had it at the house for $119 now the round ones start at $129.............oh how I long for the good ole days :)
  11. what the crap is going on? I remember just a while back you could get them for $100, sometimes less but now I see they're going for $200+. Surely its not due to the "sanctions" against Russia craze..............
  12. finally found one that would ship to a C&R   http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=422970207
  13.   I have as well. More that a few I would have definitely bid higher that the auction went for. Oh well there loss.
  14. I have my C&R like many of ya'll do. I've not used it but once to purchase a mosin from aimsurplus. My question to you that are proficient in buying c&r's is this; do you have trouble with gunbroker dealers not wanting to ship to a C&R FFL holder even though the weapon is eligible? I have been closely following for that once in a lifetime deal on an old gun but have had dealers reply "our policy is not to ship to c&r ffl holders even if the item is eligible". It really is no skin off my nose but just wondering if it's that risky for them or if there are  extra hoops to jump through that make it not worth the hassle.
  15.   Everything I've heard and read is that season 6 is it. ;(
  16. Awesome!!!! I quit smoking 5yrs ago this month and am still proud to state I'm a non-tobacco user. It was a difficult habit to break but one I would be glad to help everyone to do.
  17. One thing I do know, if it is all a rumor and buds is not coming to Sevierville, then someone is going to great lengths to fool me and/or my department. :)
  18. Just spoke with the architect and have seen the preliminary drawings. it will have a retail area as well as 25 lanes of indoor range. They look to start demo work within a few weeks.
  19.     trying to talk the wife into going Saturday evening
  20.  I agree! I changed my info to the point that I just do pay the taxes owed with a little cushion. It was difficult to get a happy medium as I have a child from a previous marriage and have a couple of step children, so odd years we have 2 dependents and even years only one. I was sick and tired of loaning the government interest free money! If I owe them money and don't pay on time they charge me interest and a penalty, anyways I digress. Google search for "withholding calculator" and you should find one that you can plug in your parameters and it will tell you how to change your w-4 to meet your tax needs.
  21. My wife and I have very simple taxes. 2 w-2's and 2 dependents...................easy peasy so I use www.freefilefillableforms.com and get to efile for free.
