Folks, does anyone know if Guns and Leather can special order you something? And if so, do you have to pay in full up front or put some down to ensure your order?

Im sure they would be happy help you with a special order.

They are good guys, and run a great shop.

Most shops require some sort of deposit, unless they know you, know the item requested will sell if you back out, or are just all around trusting folks.

(So dont be offended if they ask for a deposit)

I just got home from there and had this conversation since I am interested in a PA63.

For an FFL order (from SOG for instance) it's a $25 fee and a $10 background check. They said they would be happy to order for me.

I have not had the pleasure of visiting some of the shops whose owners frequent TGO forums, but from the ones I have been to, G&L is head and shoulders above the rest. I want to get out to Hero Gear and Gallatin, etc. so please no one on here take offense, but I can't say enough good about G&L.

You will love Hero-Gear, I can assure you that. I was a total newb when I went there pre-election to get my AR-15. I had a pre-conceived notion that I would get the  and then the:screwy: from the staff there, being as there were plenty of people in there much more tactical-savvy than I was, and that entertaining me would be construed as a nuisance.

I couldn't have been more wrong. Joe met me at the door, literally (knowing I was coming). He remembered my numerous PM's to him prior to my trip there. We went straight to the AR's and he gave me a 15 minute crash course on all things AR. By the end of that, I not only knew what I wanted, but had a considerable understanding of the weapon system itself. That made all of the difference. I bought that day, and I've been back to get lots of gear and accessories. The downfall for me is that it's a 5 hour roundtrip! Were HG closer...I'd be a single, unemployed, but well-armed man paying rent on the broom closet in the back of his building!:) I love it there.

I've bought several guns and lots of ammo from G&L, and each time I have been, the selection, service, price and information has been top-notch. Can't say enough good about them.

Between G&L, HG, and my local Dickson Sportsmans Store...I've not yet found a need that they cannot fulfill. We are fortunate to have their presence and knowledge in our own back yards, and on this board. That goes for all three.

Merely my $0.02

Just out of curiousity is the 25.00 fee for them to order the gun or is just a deposit that will be deducted from the balance when you complete the sale?

The $25 is a FFL transfer fee. It is in addition to the cost of the purchase. The $10 is for a background check.

The guy told me to add $35 to the final price of what I wanted.
