I got there this morning and it took 45 minutes to get in the building with guns to check. I've never seen the line going in so long. I had to park across the main road behind the last building going up the hill. Thank goodness they had a shuttle bus running from the Convention Center to all the parking areas. After walking around inside for four hours trying to sell my shotgun, my feet were killing me.

And as said already, prices way too high on most of the merchandise. I saw one Ruger LCP for $500, and he wouldn't budge.

Admission was $10.

How is the show at the civic auditorium ? Is this their first show or have they had it before ?

I guess I got lucky at this show :screwy:

Me and my dad showed up and parked right near the front, got in the front of the line to get in, found 2 great deals on guns, 1 on ammo, and 1 on an AR that I should have brought home (still stick on that one) and came home happy.

the lines were insane, but i personally feel like there was more to look at than the knoxville show from last week. Not as many handguns floating around but most of the tables i saw had vendors and out of the crowd flowing in most had something they were carrying.

But the worse show I ever attended was still better than a day of shoe shopping !!!

You said it most people Ive seen at Meadowview on Sun. morning in a while. My brother and I picked up a reloader kit and three sets of dies plus extras got a guy been doing it for a while going to break us in. ( going to work on it at his house and not blow mine up ) My dad picked up a new toy and I fell for one but left it sittin again:screwy: I was wanting to trade my P94 for a Browning Highpower and found a sweet one but the P94 was my first baby and kinda hard to let go of and since they want to streal your gun and break the bank with theres its not easy to trade anyway. Maybe next time..

The Civic Auditorium and Meadowview are the only venues I've gone to for gun shows so to compare them to other places is kinda hard for me to do. Naturally with the Civic Auditorium being much smaller than Meadowview it can't have as much for sale or have as many attending. But I have run across a couple of good deals on guns there. I don't know why they schedule a gun show the week after Meadowview. It seems like they've done that before.

Different crowd at Civic Aud. I carried an AR in and people looked at me like I was some crazed terrorist.

I saw like 3 ARs total and 2 guys selling a Glock or 2 at the last CA show I went to. Like the crowd is a generation behind. Lots more 'back holler' kind of folks. (thats not a slam, just an observation). Fairly crowded back then; I hate to think what it will be now. Maybe they'll appreciate ARs more now that they may be in trouble.

There's a show coming up in Elizabethton. You just wait... I bet there'll be guns there that ain't seen the light of day in 20 years or more, available for private sale. Tables are just over half as much as the Convention center ones, too!
