This Would Work:

This was an article from the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper on Sunday. The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix the Economy?"

Patriotic retirement: There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force … pay them $1 million apiece severance with stipulations.

They leave their jobs. Forty million job openings — unemployment fixed.

They buy new American cars. Forty million cars ordered — auto industry fixed.

They either buy a house or pay off their mortgage — housing crisis fixed.

All this and it's still cheaper than the "bailout".

Only problem with this "plan" that has been circulating the internet is that 40 million x $1 million = 40,000,000,000,000

That's 40 TRILLION $$$$$$$$$$$$ !

NOT $40 million as most emails subliminally lead you to believe.

Excellent math, MCurrier!

Of course, Obama would love for those 40 million to retire for a dollar apiece (40 million X $1 each = $40,000,000). Now if we could just get them to own guns, then go to Washington & say "we're mad as hell & we're not gonna take it anymore!" :screwy:
