Arlington mayor parks update on Facebook...

This from Russ's Facebook status today:

Russell Wiseman - just got a call from the Commercial Appeal, wondering if I forsee any problems in our parks in Arlington since tomorrow is the first day "legal" firearms can be carried in them.....I said........ummmmm......nope, I'm more worried about the illegal ones than I am the legal ones......

That is great to hear! I am an Arlington resident also. He has been a great Mayor and I am sorry he isn't running again. I worry about what we may get next.

Our twin boys were on the same baseball team as the Mayors son this last summer. He is a very nice man and his brother is the head of the Shelby County GOP.

I sent the Mayor a message on Facebook asking for clarification about the parks carry issue in Arlington just to be 100% sure for myself.

This is the massage I got back from him. Boy, do I wish he would run again!

Yes, you CAN carry in Arlington Parks. As a permitted carrier myself, myself and the Board have no desire to disarm anyone.

Great to see politicians of this caliber(play on words),seriously I work in Arlington and live near by,is there any parks in Arlington besides the one right in town??
