what about keeping one in the chamber? is that legal?

Just wanted to clarify......Having a gun on your person without a carry permit is illegal and having a bullet chambered while in your vehicle is illegal. Having one in the chamber while you are at home or on your personal property, however, is perfectly legal.

Are you speaking in regards to transporting while not possessing a carry license? Or are you speaking in general?

It's bad enough your state won't allow carry in establishments that get less than 50% of their revenue from alcohol... don't tell me TN also prohibits carrying locked and loaded?

He was speaking of without a permit. It would be pretty pointless to allow issuance of permits but forbid carrying with one in the chamber.

Okay... was just making sure. I had hoped he was stating in regards to non-permit holders, but wanted to make sure as his original wording could be taken either way.

I know how TN is on some of their laws (like the alcohol / carry issue), so I just wanted to make sure I understood it and the OP understood it correctly.

Sorry all...I thought the OP was talking about life before a permit, because I thought I saw him state somewhere else on here that he was going to get his permit.
