Sure, if you want to put it that way. Or, maybe I failed from misunderstanding you to begin with.

basically I am in favor of every interpretation of 2A that puts arms into our hands and gun racks.

The declaration and establishment of the second amendment was to ensure that we could protect ourselves from, and abolish in need be, a despot, usurping, and destructive government. Which was the sole purpose of the American Revolutionary War.

With that being said, we, as the people of these United States, should be extremely concerned that our government is taking to developing the strategy in the OP. The fact is that people are becoming more and more concerned, and thus becoming more and more active at opposing the despotism. These practices were defined by our founders as being not only righteous, but necessary. We, over the past several years, have witnessed a moving within government to marginalize those people and prevent the practice thereof.

We are to be protecting the free state of the people, not the free state of government.

Believing this way is the intent of our founders, and what at our current government is trying to prevent and criminalize.

Hi gts

I usually don't try to argue one side of a debate. I usually just "think out loud" because dunno a firm answer.

An early test of "fighting town hall" with force rather than votes, was Shay's Rebellion circa 1786:

Shays' Rebellion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It seemed an early expression of a populist movement-- The farmers were mad about taxes, but also were mad at rich folks. Partially socialist and partially libertarian (as populist movements often turn out).

"I have been greatly abused, have been obliged to do more than my part in the war; been loaded with class rates, town rates, province rates, Continental rates and all rates...been pulled and hauled by sheriffs, constables and collectors, and had my cattle sold for less than they were worth...The great men are going to get all we have and I think it is time for us to rise and put a stop to it, and have no more courts, nor sheriffs, nor collectors nor lawyers."

Shay's rebellion seemed the impetus for Jefferson's famous Tree of Liberty letter. George Washington didn't like it one little bit and helped put it down.

Perhaps from a sense of justice, or perhaps from fearing resentments that would feed a larger civil war, most of the rebels were eventually pardoned, after they first got a good ass-kicking by the feds.

====

Then there was the Whiskey Rebellion circa 1794:

Whiskey Rebellion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That one seemed almost entirely anti-tax, though the law gave big city distilleries economic advantages, so it may have had class-conflict connotations.

On first blush it was a failed rebellion. George Washington and crew kicked the Whiskey Rebel's butts, though all were eventually pardoned.

The Wikipedia article says that consternation over the whiskey tax, and public sympathy for the rebellion, were early beginnings of political parties, and helped Jefferson win the presidency. So the tax law was eventually repealed years later with votes rather than bullets, and the article says that the tax was never easy to collect and was not profitable anyway.

====

So in both these cases, folks getting upset enough to bear arms, seemed to fail in making the change by force, but may have swayed the political situation in a fashion so that the rebels eventually got their way. Slim consolation to any folks who died along the way.

There are many other historical examples, but that is enough for a single post.

Nowadays, it seems very unlikely that rebels would be pardoned, or even survive the exercise. And also unlikely that they would be immediately successful in whatever they hope to accomplish.

Yes, it does seem rather unlikely. Which personally bothers me to no end. We are currently living under a form of government, and have been since long before either of us were born, that is completely contradictory to what the document that supposedly governs us dictates. There is no mutual agreement among the citizenry to resist the despotism in any fashion. But rather constant infighting and derision which allows the despots to continually work to their destructive ends. And when a group of people have finally had enough and chose to exert their right of assembly and mount a resistance, or detach themselves, they're are quickly squashed by marginalization, or force, with no recourse from the people as whole. Americans have repeatedly proven that we have no comradery amongst one another, nor any diligence in guarding the liberties that we claim to appreciate.

Our best hope will be the collapse of the economy that so facilitates our conveniences and comforts, to which we have grown so accustom and misnomer as freedom. Maybe then, we as a people, will reflect upon the cause of our downfall and bond together, once and for all, for the common causes of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

In the meantime, as the old saying goes, "The future belongs to those who survive," so prepare accordingly.

Sure, there are people that feel any change to the status quo is a threat to their wealth and power. For a long time the party of Hope and Change was also the party of making sure we didn't have a hope of changing anything by denying themselves the tools required. And the party of maintaining the accrual of wealth and power to the existing elites has supporters of the Second Amendment in their corner and under control.

The party of hope and change is the same party it was of recent vintage.

Only the names have been changed. The other party you characterize

has the same type of demographic as the first. they both seek power.

There are as many wealthy democrats as there are republicans. Wasting

your time on this.

As the disintegration of the Republican half of the twoparty picked up steam under the added insult of Sarah Palin, it really looked like the old systems of control could fail. You had MoveOn and Taxed Enough Already getting together to protest fiscal irresponsibility in Washington. You have an image of a black guy with an AR on his shoulder protesting health care.

I haven't noticed any degradation in the Republican Party due to Sarah

Palin. Moveon.org is a George Soros backed wing of the Democrat Party.

Taxed Enough already has nothing to do with them. What's up here?

The black guy carrying an AR was characterized by your mainstream media as a white guy extremist until the story was exposed for what it was.

Something had to be done! And the combined Endless September efforts of Fox News and the smear campaigns by other media channels has pretty effectively halted the progress of the tea Party.

How? Fox is the only news outlet giving the Tea Party Movement any press.

You can make all these observations without being the least bit bothered that Obama is black or trying to say it's a sinister plot by a cabal of mulitnational Jewish bankers. The DHS report simply notes that the type of people who will be inspired act out in violence against the state are likely to be recruited with those sorts of stories.Very narrow. I acknowledge that maintenance of liberty requires one to accept an inherent lack of security and that it should be expected that if a government does not react to resolve the issues raised in peaceful protests that violent protest is the next step in restoring government to its proper place subordinate to the people.

I care nothing about his skin color. I do care what is between his ears, however.

The DHS report is basically full of crap. It will be a witch hunt to silence

the opposition so the socialism can continue. that report is completely

political. go back to Janet Napolitano calling returning GI's and Republicans

"rightwing extremists". That report is just version 2 of the original. There

will be more. This will all end badly if this bunch of socialists are not

stopped.

It was sad that those bombers Reagan ordered towards Libya didn't

have "Gaddafi sensors". We wouldn't be seeing him in the US nowadays.

but it kept him quiet for a long time. Must have gotten close to him,

anyway:D
