Well, on the chopping block is our military, the way the liberals see it. They would do

better to quit spending other places. Barney Fwanks wants it here, though, so on top of apologizing to everyone by the messiah, I guess we will be at the mercy of everyone.

I feel warm and fuzzy, don't you? Soldiers deserve better than this.

Thank you, Barney

So the guy who fought for Fannie and Freddie right up until the meltdown, then loudly blamed Republicans, now wants to gut defense spending -from recruiting to tricare, and active forces bend over and take it deep (that's the way he rolls, y'know).

What could go wrong?

Link to comment

I say that if he wants to gut something? fine. REDUCE the commitments by our military first. No more Navy pulling people's beans outta the fire or looking after Europe. let THEM build a Navy.

Let them notify the countries that wish to commit atrocities that we will now follow an Israeli response policy.

By that I mean we will give the response that Israel gave when ONE of their soldiers were kidnapped.

They leveled Lebanon.

Reaffirm Israel that we're their friend, and everyone else that we will support them with both materiel and technology.

Inform Iran that they are now a priority for us. If we catch ONE Iranian operative in Iraq, we will be happy level their infrastructure. Collateral damage will not be viewed as a bad thing. We have been patient since 1979. that time is over, so either cut heads or STFU.

Inform Iraq that we've had to visit them 2 times already, if we have to come back, we'll destroy them again and we WON'T rebuild.

Inform NATO that they are now responsible for the defense of Europe and tell them "good luck with that".

Make tricare the new congressional health insurance. If they don't like it, inform them that we're making deep cuts in order to make it "sustainable" (don't you just LOVE that stupid buzzword?). They're welcome to get private insurance as long as it's in keeping with the CURRENT HEALTH CARE LAWS, and ALL of Congress will be subject to this law.

If they don't like that, change the law.

that's my thoughts on the matter...they're probably not accurate nor logical..but that's the way I would do it.

It's time to put EVERYONE back into the same boat. perhaps then, we won't have to worry about being torpedoed in the stern.

From what I read, they're cutting the development of one plane, and cutting down on the number of ships deployed. I would like to see more details.

he's also cutting benefits and tricare.

Personally, I think it's an attack predicated by the fact that the military refused to abolish the don't ask don't tell requlations.

If they're cutting benefits, they need to be slapped. I doubt DADT has anything to do with it. Barney ain't the only one on the committee.

They are also recommending cuts in recruitment, the size of the forces, marine vehicles and aircraft, getting out of Europe, Korea, Japan etc. entirely. The advisory panel is a whos-who of socialists, anti American agitators, and far left candidates for the looney bin.

That won't fly. WTF are they thinking?

Unfortunately, it could fly unless the commies are thrown out of office in November.

It looks like they are trying to wreck this country and build it back into some damned

utopia. November is a long way off.

Yeah, that's as silly as thinking the government would take over private companies, divvy them up according to who the President owes favors to rather than who owns the stock. Almost as goofy as proposing the government would mandate that citizens purchase services, such as health insurance. Might as well break out the tinfoil, before someone suggests that our leaders would stab traditional allies in the back, while funnelling funds and support to dictatorships, socialist regimes, and enemies f the US.

Shoot, next thing you know, some conspiracy type will suggest that federal contracts for public works won't be awarded on a cost basis, but rather by whether the company is unionized.

Let's not even get into the issue of political appointees at DOJ quashing criminal cases based on race.

 Except it isn't funny when you think about it.

Remember that Star Trek episode about the alternate universe, with the evil Kirk, power hungry Spock and so forth?

I think we're there. This administration and Congress haven't made a few mistakes, they've made every mistake possible - and usually in the most harmful way possible.

He would rather have his Civilian National Security Force to keep us in line, rather than

have a strong military. He can't control the military, only cut it to pieces.

If he wanted to be friends with Israel, he wouldn't have given money to Hezbollah right

after his coronation.

Are they gonna be armed with lethal weapons, or are they gonna shoot rubber balls at us? :2cents:

If they weaken the military, they're wrong. If they cut some development, and Gates is behind it, I don't mind so much.

There's no tin foil left. It's been used up. We need to find another suitable material.

One of my favorites. Lied his butt off the entire time. He knew that we knew that he was lying, but he kept going.

Same is true with this administration.

You gotta tell me who you think is telling the truth

The bills themselves and their actions that are recorded on camera (same for their supporters i.e. ACORN, SEIU, etc.) speak volumes. Like I've said before, dig through ten or a dozen sites and sift the truth out for yourself. You still believe CNN?

Never believed CNN. Learned that about the time Baghdad Bob showed up.

Sorry, just realized that sounded accusatory. I thought you had posted elsewhere about CNN being better than Fox. I listen to all of them (yes, my ears bleed quite often) and go to a variety of websites and watch videos and arguments from both sides. Basically, the words that are said vs. the bills that are passed don't make me feel comfortable for my future as a young person and as an American. Copying Europe's path is foolhardy since we can see how its failing miserably. And we aren't Europe, dammit.
