I use a Caldwell Rock and Caldwell rear bag most of the time. Elevation adjustment is real helpful. It's also small enough to carry around easily. I also have a Lead Sled DFT and some shot bags for dealing with heavier recoil, but it's big, heavy, and outside your budget. Some of the better ranges will rent Lead Sleds when you need them.

I like my led sled but I won't use it for anything but taming the recoil during sight in. Not that great for cleaning or maintenance or bore sighting/scope mounting. I hate large doses of repetitive recoil and the Led Sled helps tame that.

Well i found a good deal on a led sled and got one for sighting my scope in. It works great for that but is big and heavy. i will probely get a allen shot saver front rest and somekind of rear bag for range use. Thanks for all the help.

I prefer sandbags.

I would too over a light weight rest. The Lead Sled, even my heavy one, tends to jump off target every time it eats a recoil pulse. Doesn't do it so much with a .223, but there's no point in using the LS for that. Happens even with 50 lbs of weight in the tray. The Rock doesn't move.
