Saw this on a Jeep forum, thought it would go well here! Hope to do some more camping this year as the kids get older. Will at least go twice this fall, hopefully more.

Just like the title says, camp recipes, post them up, I'll start:

Appetizer: If possible, if available, Bacon wrapped duck breast or dove breasts

Main Course: Meat, cooked. Steak, burgers, fish (especially if you caught it)

Side Dish: Some veggie in aluminum foil. See the recipe below for zucchini, going to try that one.

Desert:

Requires a cast iron dutch oven

2 cans fruit pie filling, Apple, Cherry, your choice

1 box of cake mix

1/2 can of Sprite

Stick of butter, melted, poured on top

Variation to above, instead of sprite use a can of pineapple, juice in all, and some will top with nuts, I don't like.

ensure charcoal is ready to go (about 30 pieces)

ensure dutch oven is seasoned

empty contents of pie filling into dutch oven

cover pie filling with cake mix

empty 1/2 can of 7up throughout top of cake mix (might omit this if enough juice in your fruit add or subtract as needed)

place lid on dutch oven

place dutch oven on 10-12 coals

place remaining coals on lid

cook for about 1 hour (check to make sure it is not burning, add subtract coals as needed, done when golden brown)

Can add some sugar and cinnamon on top before cooking, whip cream or that coolwhip crap would be good too.

Add homemade ice cream and it is so good it'll make you slap yo grandma!

Bacon wrapped dove breasts, or duck breasts. Cook on fire, eat.

Saw some other interesting ones:

Bacon on a stick: Take bacon, drape over a stick with a Y shape, and roast over the fire. Eat.

Taco's in a bag.

Taco meat

Peppers

Tomatoes

Cheese

Lettuce

Taco sauce

Doritos (the big snack bags) (I would rather use plain corn chips, but that's just me)

Before opening the bag mash up the chips

Open the bag and add what you like.

Breakfast is Omelets in a bag.

Freezer Ziplock bags

Everything you would put in an omelet (pre-cook any meat)

Big pot of boiling water (Freezer bags)

Put you eggs and anything you want in the bag

Zip it and mash it up

Boil it until the egg is cooked.

Take one 10 inch summer squash and 1 10 inch zucchini.

Slice into preferred thickness. 1/8 to 1/4"

Take 2 sheet's of tin foil and make sure not to puncture.

Put 7 ice cubes, 8 slices of butter (1/4") and all the veggies into tinfoil.

seal tin foil by folding seams together. Gently lay on Grill or Fire (if fire then find flat stone to lay on). After 8 minutes open seam on top just a little to make sure steam is now rising. another 7 minutes and you have a delicious side dish with the meat of choice. Also Mr. Dash garlic and herb goes awesome with this dish. I usually coat prior to adding to grill and as soon as it comes off. Sometimes a dash of lemon when it's done cooking adds a new flavor.

Post up, hopefully we all will get some new ideas!!

Not a recipe per se, but we have a little device called a BakePacker. It's made out of aluminum, it's round and about an inch and a hafl thick and has a grid in the middle. The thing fits perfectly down into a pot.

What you do is, put it in the pot, then fill it with water almost to the top of the grid. Then take anything that you would normally have to bake like cornbread, or a cobbler, mix it up and put it in a clear plastic oven bag. Work the bag and dough on top of the grid so that it is evenly spread out, adn then boil the water with a lid on the pot. Somehow it bakes the dough.

I've had the BakePacker for years, and my folks have had theirs for twice as long. Can't even beging to say how many yummie things we've made. For instance, take a cake mix, baKe it up and pour pie topping on it. Best part is there is no clean up. You cook it in the bag.
