Agent Jeff Ryan of the BATFE - LA Field Division commits suicide. He had an EEOC case with whistleblower implications. This is apparently not related to Gunwalker, but is indicative of the workplace environment within the bureau.

I think that's fairly normal within any extremely type A organization. A guy in a unit in which I served (before I was there) blew the whistle on a conflict of interest and his life was a living hell for years afterward. They kicked him out of the unit, killed his dog, and a bunch of other stuff. He got passed over for promotion and was basically humiliated by the military until he got 60 Minutes involved, which was after he was retired. His story ended up better though: Retroactive promotions and pay, Lieutenant General (3 star) being forced to retire, commanding officer also retired and some other stuff I can't think of.

Anyway, the point is type A types don't like being made to look bad. And when they are they have a tendency to get pissy about it.
