Sig P290 price check and opinions

I have had my eye on a Sig P290 9mm for a while. Bud's has the Nitron (black) finish with laser and night sights for $469.00 shipped. It comes with 2 mags a flush 6rd and a extended 8 round. It is model# Model: 290RS9BSSL

I want a "pocket" 9mm and was looking at the P290, Nano, and CM9. This would is not much more in price than the other 2 and with the extended mag it looks really attractive.

Am I wrong or is this a really good price for this gun? MSRP is over $828 and most place I have seen this gun for sale it is over $600

The laser is not a big deal to me and for some reason the non laser models are priced higher at Bud's. Isn't the laser removable?

Am I missing something or is the price coming down on these?

Anyone have one that can share their opinions?

That is definitely a good price, but if you haven't held a 290 in person I strongly suggest you find a shop locally that has one. I found the 290 to be much bulkier than expected and probably too large for pocket carry for most people. I haven't shot one personally - just dry fire, but the trigger was anything to rave about either.

Of the guns you listed I would take a second look at the kahr if you aren't sure which one to get. Kahrs are tried and true compact pistols. Albeit the ones that I have shot, the triggers are long - they are extremely smooth and easy to shoot.

I dunno about my nano. The spring on the striker grinds and scrapes as you pull the trigger, and I have yet to find any way to make it smooth out. The trigger is the ONLY issue with the gun, it has a great take-down, is accurate and reliable, nice and small. Just try the trigger before you buy it .... it won't change from the first time you pull it either, just will NOT break in, at least mine will not.

MSRP and actual price are about as related as the apprasial price of jewelery is to actual price: not at all.

Of those I would probably go for the cm9 but the sig is also nice. I do not know the current prices, just saying MSRP is about useless. 99% sure the laser can be removed.

Hard to beat the Kahr CM9. They are accurate, reliable and have a good trigger. Price is around $400-4425 new w/ 1 mag and around $375 used w/2 mags.

I can't argue this, I have a PM9 that I love. The CM isn't that much different. especially when you take 200 bucks off the price.

I had a p290 and it was very accurate and dependable ,but I traded it for a Sig RCS that I liked more. I just like a 45acp. Another pistol you may consider is the New compact Springfield XDS 45acp. It is in your price range and it plenty powerful .
