BTW, Sour Kraut is German so I would think if she isn't offended no one should be.

I'm going to take the modern progressive route on this and be offended on her behalf. She needs my help. She just doesn't know it yet. But she will.

I am pretty sure Injun originated as a mispronunciation and stuck around.  Yanno, just some frontiersmans vernacular and accent of the word Indian.

I have heard people say ijit instead of idiot.  my granpa used to pronounce words funny,  Negro was pronounced Niggra, andmind you he did not have a racist bone in his body.  When he said the word Miami is came out as Miamuh, Cincinnati was Cincinnatuh.

Though in the instance Sour Kraut refers it is probably a slur.

FWIW we never eat sauerkraut on hot dogs, it is sour cabbage ;)
