Free Hunting Day in TN

Just a reminder...  Saturday August 24 is this year's Free Hunting Day in TN.  I would like to encourage everyone who has the day off to take somebody out to bag a few tree rats.  And keep in mind, it's not just for kids...  it is open to anyone, such as a family member who has expressed some interest in shooting, an older neighbor who maybe hasn't been hunting in years but misses the experience, or a co-worker who doesn't know what he or she has been missing.  No hunting license needed, but Hunter Safety regulations do apply.

Do you know what the hunter safety regs are? My son wants to try squirrel hunting.

Has to be 10 years old to take the course. If he is over 10, you can get him a "Apprentice License" until you get his HSC. The course is offered free statewide. I hope this helps. If he is under 10, you may take him hunting but will want to supervise him.

thanks Dave! I'm asking around for a good hunting spot now. He will be excited.
