As Punisher stated, just wipe and wipe away... You'll only have a problem if the oil seeps into the round... You shouldn't have a problem if you wipe off the excess oil with a rag... The people that usually have problems are those that feel compelled to lube their gun so much that its dripping, don't shoot very often, and then expect an oil laden round to go off without a hitch...

i always just take the new mags apart, spray them down with gun cleaner solvent, rub the parts down with a tiny bit of oil thats still in my silicon cloth, and re-assemble. it's a pain in the ass to get oily mags, but it's a lot better than gettin a rusty one

Me too. I use a toothbrush to clean the inside of the mag tubes too. Every Sig I have ever bought came with a half inch of grease slathered on the mags. It sucks.

As a note, the "oil will ruin your rounds" is false, in a reasonable amount of time.

While YES, it is a good idea to make sure you clean your guns well and don't SLATHER them in oil (it's not just the ammo it's going to get on!), it isn't going to ruin ammo in a reasonable amount of time. Well, ammo that has been loaded properly.

Still not a good idea, but just sayin'...
