CHATTANOOGA (WRCB)- Chattanooga native Dennis Haskins is releasing a CD/DVD combination called "Karaoke With Your Favorite Principal Dennis Haskins, aka Mr. Belding" with a special appearance this Tuesday (Dec. 16) at FYE Records at Northgate Mall.

Haskins said the CD was recorded at Mikron Studios in South Pittsburg with Mike Headrick. Recording star Cody McCarver produced the project.

The CD contains seven tracks with Haskins vocals and the same songs with no vocals. The DVD's extras include some behind-the-scenes and making-of moments.

Haskins began his career in Chattanooga, where he attended Notre Dame High School and the University of Chattanooga. He promoted concerts and appeared in several TV shows and movies before he was cast as the affable, well-meaning principal in the long running NBC sitcom "Saved By The Bell" which aired from 1988 to 2000 with original episodes. Haskins says, "Reruns of the show still air on cable several times a day, and probably always will. New generations of kids are discovering the show, and some grown-ups come up to me and can recite entire episodes!"

Haskins will appear at the Release Party for the disc Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at FYE Northgate.

Admission is free.

If only we could carry OURSELVES concealed. Do I have to get a permit for that, too?:ugh:;)

I actually tried to watch one of those aforementioned reruns the other day. I lasted about 4 minutes and could NOT, for the life of me, figure out why I was so interested in that show. It was just a different time, I guess.
