Looking for a Refinish and Trigger work for Browning Hi-Power

Recommended Posts

Im in Franklin south of Nashville and I have an older Browning Hi-Power I would like a gun smith to look at. Currently it has the standard walnut grips and original blue job with fixed sights. My gun does have a few small rust spots but nothing deep enough to be an issue. Do you guys know of anybody locally who you would trust to do a refinish and possibly some trigger work? I found a guy who specializes in 1911's and Hi-Powers that does really good work but he's in Pennsylvania and I really dont want to send my gun that far away to have work done unless I dont have an option...plus I'd rather give the business to somebody local.

I am looking to make it look like this gun...not exactly like it, but the picture at least gives you an idea of what I'm wanting to do. I would like to keep the factory engraving if possible "browning logo, etc etc". It looks like this gun was possibly cerakoted so thats an option I'm also considering. Thanks for the recommendations.

Cylinder and Slide have been one of the premier BHP repair and modification companies for years. They won't be cheap though.

Price isnt too big of an issue as long as its done right the first time.

As for the 2nd Amendment Coating Company, I did find them earlier this morning and it looks like they are a prime candidate to coat the gun. I sent them a message earlier to get an idea of what I'm looking at and how the process works. Do you know if they do disassembly or if I need to do it and take them the pieces of the gun after its broken down?

If your doing the whole firearm you will have to meet with him. If it's only the slide, you can mail that.

Call Tim at Calhoun Custom in Kingston Springs.  He may work on HPs.  He has a national reputation for 1911 race guns.  He is a master with machining.

Tennesseetiger:  Do you know where the trigger came from on that HP you put up a picture of?  I have never seen it before.

Im pretty sure it came from these guys but I could be wrong.
