I have a Remington 700 in 243 and it absolutely hates boat tail bullets.  I can shoot 1/2 inch groups with flat base bullets but it will do no better then 1.5 inch with boat tail (at 100 yards).  I use H414 and a Hornady flat based soft point.  My rifle is from the late 80s but does not have a lot of rounds through it (hundreds not thousands).  I would be interested if the TTSX works for you as I have not tried a boat tail in this rifle in almost 20 years.

Ruger GP100 in 1990 or 1991.  4 inch barrel, blued, still have it.

I have one and have had no issue with the takedown connection getting loose.  It shoots great.  My only problem was some extra plastic left on the stock in the mag well that made mags difficult to remove.  A fine file and some sandpaper and all is good now.

I have always used H414.  I have a Remington 700 BDL that likes it along with Sierra bullets.  I shoot what the rifle likes ;-)

If you are ever near Knoxville I have a box of factory ammo you can have.

My P94 won't run at all unless it is well oiled.  If the rails are dry I get ftf, fte.

I am going to start reloading for my 375 H&H.  The obvious reason is to reduce the cost of ammo of course.  I can find ammo (no one seems to be hoarding this caliber) but it is darned expensive.  Of course my friends ask why I would bother shooting such a punishing round but that discussion can wait for another time ;-)   I have brass, various powders, bullets that I want to use but I only have standard large rifle primers.  I have been unable to find any magnum large rifle primers.  I do have 200 old Winchester large rifle primers that are labeled for "standard and magnum loads".  So, do any of you have any pet loads for the 375 H&H using standard primers?  My bullet weights are 260 grain and up.  I know a full load of ball powder needs a magnum primer for reliable ignition.  Do any powders used in the 375 work ok with standard primers?  Most of what I have is IMR and Hodgdon powders.   Thanks

Sig P226. It is big, it is heavy, but it shoots great. Close second is an old Ruger GP141 in 357 magnum. It goes bang every time. Edit: I forgot my Sign P220. It shoots like a dream and is a 45. What's not to like?

If only I had an unlimited gun budget.  I want a double in 450NE.

After a 10 year hiatus I am just getting everything in order to begin loading again.  The closest thing to a big bore I loaded then was 444 Marlin (which I still have).  I now own a 375 H&H Mag and plan to load for it soon.  If I don't load for it, I can't afford to shoot it!  

This is a great thread.  I am thinking of getting into casting.  I gave up the idea years ago when I was told a 444 Marlin with microgroove barrel would NOT shoot cast bullets accurately.  Recently I read a great series of articles on the subject that pointed the problem to Marlin's barrels being oversized.  You slug the barrel to find the right diameter to cast.  From the articles, 0.432 is the most common size.  The authors had luck driving the bullets at full 444 marlin velocities.  Now I am interested in casting ;-)  I love my 444.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I do plan to buy from David.  Gander Mountain seems to have given up on reloading supplies (one end cap of misc junk).  

I hope to see Mr David at the next show.  I still think it would be nice to be able to walk into a store and look at reloading hardware, supplies, etc.  I don't mind ordering tools from MidwayUSA but would prefer to support some local business when possible.  Also, sometimes I just want to touch it before I decide to buy it.  This is particularly true with the "tools and toys" part of reloading.

I know with the current panic there are no supplies to be had at all (or very little).  I haven't reloaded in a little over 10 years.  Then I was living in little Ashland, KY and had 2 well stocked stores competing for my reloading dollars.  In Knoxville I have found zero stores that carry anything above the bare minimum (before the panic).  Are there small stores that I am just not aware of?  It just seems odd that an area with this large of a population in a relatively gun friendly area would not have any stores with some kind of focus on reloading.

We bought one for my oldest son when he earned his Eagle Scout rank.  It is a Philmont commemorative (we went together in 2010).  It is accurate and FUN to shoot!
