  1. Come on out and have some trigger time and little competition. Again it will be perfect weather and 5 fun stages. The match will require only about 110 rounds, but we have some that tricky steel that dodges the bullets, so I recommend bringing at least 150 rounds. See you at the range.
  2. Spaces are filling up but there should be slots available Saturday morning. They will be given away on a first-come basis. Registration table will open at 8AM. Everybody needs to be at the range by 9 AM, shooting should start by 930.
  3. You need to sign up now! It is a great deal - 7 fun pistol stages, should be at least 3 guns on the prize table, distributed by the Lewis system, LUNCH included, goody bags. Only $35+ a new toy ($15 min). Go to ORSAIDPA.com for details.
  4. It is going to be perfect weather, slightly cooler, dry. A perfect weekend to shoot a match. If you have not shot a USPSA match, prepare for the addiction. Standing still shooting paper just won't be any fun anymore. Show up at 930, shooting starts at 10. Go to orsaap.com for details.
  5. New shooters welcomed. Registration starts about 930. Shooting starts at 10. Have 5 good stages, they will be fun. Maps and details at ORSAAP.com. Look forward to seeing you at the range. Weather will be perfect.
  6. We don't have a formal address for the east gate, but put 201 Hermitage Blvd. Oak Ridge into your GPS - that should get you close.
  7. Hi Zenman - at ORSA we have something virtually every weekend. Tomorrow, the third Saturday of the month is USPSA. Please be on the action pistol range by 0930 for registration, we start shooting at 1000. You are very welcome to watch, but if you got a suitable pistol (9mm or larger), 4 mags, and a holster, you are good to go. Feel free to ask questions, we are all about helping and encouraging new shooters. Other weekends: First Saturday - IDPA; Second Saturday - Cowboys: Third Saturday - USPSA: Fourth Saturday - Steel Challenge (great venue for shooting .22's or pistol caliber carbine/rifles). Plenty of opportunity for trigger time. Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions.
  8. The monthly USPSA MATCH is this Saturday at the ORSA range. Nonmembers welcome. Go to ORSAAP.com for more information.
  9. The match IS getting close. We have the 35,000 rounds of 9mm on hand. The guns are ready. The weather is going to be great. Lunch will be available for $5 - money will go the Young Marines Steel Challenge ammo fund.
  10. Good looking stages.

  12. UPDATE - REFLECTING THE EXTREME INTEREST IN THIS MATCH, THE MATCH IS NOW FULL. A WAIT LIST WILL BE CREATED, BUT ALL 150 COMPETITOR SLOTS ARE NOW FILLED. If you are in the area, please come by and visit the Demonstration Bay to shoot a Caracal Pistol, or shoot the Side Match for an opportunity to win a Caracal Pistol.
  13. Offer to pay her match fees and both of you shoot. Anniversary to remember. I think the first or second anniversary is lead.
  14. If you are interested in shooting this match, do not hesitate - as of 1 March, only 50 slots remain, and I don't think they will last 3 weeks, if that. As if you needed more reason to shoot this match, besides the $5000 cash and 12 guns that will be given away, the firearms and free ammo that is provided for the match, and the opportunity to shoot the Caracals, additional prizes from Bladetech and 5.11 are going to be given way. Please go to orsaap.com for more information and a match application.
  15. Delighted to hear about your positive experience. We always try to encourage new shooters. It is a commonly held misconception that you need a "race gun" to shoot USPA. NOT TRUE, come on out with your glock, sig, or virtually any other 9mm caliber or bigger pistol, a holster, and 4 - 5 mags and join the fun. Please feel free to email any questions to me at levy.orsa@gmail dot com.
  16. It will be beautiful weather. Come on out and join us for a little shooting. We have 5 fun stages set up. Registration starts at 930, shooting starts at 10. Go to ORSAAP.com or ORSAIDPA.com for additional information, including directions to the range.
  17. vontar - Now the ORSA is a really fine range, and the annual price is a real bargain, but you do NOT have to be an ORSA member to shoot this match. Just come on down.
  18. Hey Trekbike - Ya'll sign up for the afternoon squad. You can drive over in the morning (< 2.5 hours from Nashville), shoot in the afternoon, get your prizes and be home by 9:30
  19. Look forward to seeing you at the match. These are the new 9mms that are just now being imported. It is an awesome deal - CaracalUSA is ponying up over $5000 in cash, 12 guns, and around 20,000 rounds of ammo. Garufa - if you have not shot IDPA or USPSA before, expect to be sucked into a great sport.

If you are looking for a great custom made 1911, talk to Mark Dye @ Dye Custom Inc. He is located in the Maryville area and does super work, though he may be out of your price range.
  22. The weather will be in the 40's and sunny. Get out of the cabin and have some fun.
  23. Current TVA regulations do prohibit firearms on TVA lakes and property, which includes boat ramps. From my limited understanding, the TVA founding documents place TVA regulations superior to State law. There was/is a petition circulating and an effort being made to change the TVA regs to be consistent with the new Federal Park laws regarding weapons.
  24. We used a Caracal in our Toys for Tots match this past weekend at ORSA. Straight out of the box, 84 shooters ( some much less experienced than others) put a total of 504 rounds through it Saturday without hiccup, zero limp wristing problems. The gun was then given away after the match to a very happy shooter.
  25. Should be a big crowd, but they will be spread out over 7 squads, so shooting should go pretty fast. Plus we will have dedicated ROs for each stage which will speed up things even more.
