Rotier's or Brown's Diner...both in Nashville.

Well, since I had a good experience, I'll recommend Del-Ton rifle kits. Basically it includes everything you need minus the stripped lower.

Well, Wal-Mart pissed me off yet again today. I went in to buy a fuel filter, coolant and check out the ammo selection. I went in through the tire center (brand new WM in Nashville has it set up like a Sam's Club) and I proceeded to check out at the auto center since that is where I parked. My first clue that this was going to not be fun was the 2 people standing in line and no cashier. Finally 2 guys walk in from the garage (1 mechanic and one cashier) and the cashier proceeds to fiddle w/ the computer some and try to check someone out, but I guess there is some trouble. He then starts talking to the mechanic and they start flipping through a magazine. Meanwhile another sales associate walks back behind the counter, circles around back there and then walks away. Finally I set my stuff down and left after standing there for 5 minutes. An employee could have at least acknowledged my presence or said I'll be right with you or we are having problems, it'll be a minute. I ended up going to the Autozone down the road and was in and out in a couple minutes. At least someone wanted my money this morning. BTW, there was no one in the sporting goods section either, so buying ammo and/or checking out there was out of the question.

I'd gladly buy one of those to replace my current 442!

So the "unspeakable K****" stole one....

You got that right! I was just giving MCR a hard time, but I agree it's pretty crappy to buy a rare gun just to re-sell it at a huge profit. However, I can't say that I have never bought things on clearance and re-sold them on eBay...I made several thousand doing that on one item until my "golden goose" went dry. -

I like to remain neutral as best I can and I really found K***** to be extremely annoying, but don't you do the same thing as a car salesman? Buy cars cheap at auction and re-sell them in order to make a profit...? Sorry, I just had to say it. -
FWIW, it was a couple hundred less for me to buy a Saiga and convert it than to build my AR. My AR is pretty basic as well...

Congrats on the purchase! I just picked up an M&P9 today w/o any of the safeties, but with night sights. I can't wait to put some lead through it at the range. I didn't opt for the compact as I already have a snubby and compact 1911 for carrying, although this full size M&P may get carried some in the winter as it still feels pretty light and compact for having a 4.25" barrel.

There is apparently a dealer in the Nashville area that has told me he has something in the works that will blow other shows out of the water...and he's not going to allow books and wood carvings to be sold there. Strictly guns and accessories. I hope it is true...

Well, my 4x24 POSP scope from Belarus finally came in. This is the one with the 400m reticle, calibrated for the 7.62 cartridge. Click for full-size.

The other EBR...Saiga 7.62 conversion w/ 4x24 POSP scope. Click for full-size.

Is GA down for you? Their site has been down for me all day, but it worked last night.

Have you checked out the Tapco SAW grip? I have one on my AK and there is a compartment, but it has a spring-loaded type hatch that isn't popping open under any circumstance. It isn't as cushy as the Ergo grip, but I like the way it feels in my hand.

Where did you get the G38 from? There was no mention of it at lunch today...
-
Does Walmart carry any? You can try Sportsman's as well. It's not a cheap caliber... http://ammunitiontogo.com/catalog1/index.php?cName=45-gap-fmj-ammo

Definitely a new model geared at the US market that is supposed to be between a Jetta and Passat and directly compete with the Toyota Camry. I also saw a Porsche SUV mentioned...

It should be good for the entire area. I know several of my contractors are ecstatic about what this could mean. It will, without a doubt, benefit the entire area, including Northern GA and AL. I have heard speculation that for every job on the VW campus, ~7 more will also be created or used to support the plant, whether it be subcontracted maintenance after the plant is up and running or parts being built elsewhere for VW to purchase. After-all, it doesn't make sense to assemble your product in TN and not have parts being built close by to support the assemblies.
-
Correct...If mine keeps falling out, I may just rip it off since I really don't use that compartment.

Lookin' good! You're going to love that pistol grip. My only complaint is the butt cap has a tendency to wiggle itself free during a range session. Not really a big deal to me since I keep spare batteries up in the vertical foregrip.

I have been pleased with the Brown Bear I got for AR, but was wondering if anyone had any feedback on their handgun ammo. I run Wolf .45 in my RIA and have had no issues with it. So...does anyone run any of the Brown Bear stuff, especially in 9mm? It seems to be running about $80/500.

Yes, it will be an XJ. It sounds like you are getting the bug already. On the subject of winch mounts, how much are you looking to spend? There are a tons of options out there with most of them being full bumpers. PM me if you want some suggestions, there are many smaller companies out there as well. A couple good forums to browse are http://www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums and http://www.naxja.org/forum/. Don't say I didn't warn you about getting the Jeep bug though...

I'd be game for that...so many possibilities in the eastern part of the state.

Great pics and awesome job on the weight loss! It looks like you are bagging quite a few waterfalls. If you are ever near the Cumberland Plateau or Sparta, I highly suggest checking out Virgin Falls. It is a truly amazing site w/ lots of rock formations along the way. The main falls is 100+ feet and flows out of a cave into another cave, so there is no visible stream feeding it. Pretty cool!
