the need for speed underground series is what i played mostly, but looking to get into FPS games
-
i believe that most use a suppressor when they use the .50bmg as a sniper rifle. a suppressor does reduce felt recoil, how much i cant say. go to youtube and you will see that shooting a high-caliber rifle will produce significant muzzle blast, whether it has a brake or not. talking .338lapua and up.

i got a PS2 a few weeks ago and im just so bored with it i cant even play it anymore. i used to be able to play it for about 8hours a day and now cant even turn it on without being bored. probably because i beat all the games already that i like and no good ones have come out for ps2. probably gonna start gaming on PC. PS2 for sale btw.

i wish i could find a good free online shooter game that is semi realistic

your wrong, the 16ounce will hurt as the 24ounce will kill
-
its not a standard at all. i dont care how fast you throw the 9mm bullet downrange it just doesnt have the mass to hit like the .45 does. period.
-
i doubt there is THE definition. just what someone thinks it is, i dont think its in websters.
-
10mm is the magnum semi-auto pistol round, of course it hits harder than .45acp .45super hits harder than acp or gap. not sure on 44auto mag vs. 45acp but nobody uses 44auto mag as SD round anyways. not sure on your 38 and 9mm group but i would guess the 38super or 9x23 as they have the longer casing and have higher case capacity for powder. oh, and harder means how much force it translates into the target, not how much it will penetrate. its not possible for a 3lb. sledgehammer to apply the same force as a 5lb. sledgehammer when you have the same man swinging it.

i have shot XDs before and owned one in 45 and they are excellent guns. no experience with CZ

in semiautos the larger caliber will always hit harder period. same goes in revolvers. but i you cross them, you have some overlapping. .357mag hits harder than 9mm even though its very close to same bullet. .327mag hits much harder than .32acp. .41mag hits much harder than .40S&W. .44mag hits harder than .45acp. .45colt hits harder than .45acp. and so on and etc. thing is you have to decide how much you want to carry. a .22 will kill with proper shot placement and so will a .500S&Wmag. you just have to pick a caliber and platform in between that suits YOU and go with it. me personally, i am the king of over-kill. for now i choose the .45acp as my caliber. but when funds are available, i will probably be carrying the new S&W 329PD scadium-frame .44mag revolver from time to time when appropriate. its weighs less than a steel 1911, quite a bit less. i think that we all know, at least we should, that unless we face special circumstances, anything 9mm or bigger will stop what we face as civilians. but do you want to be prepared for those special circumstances(drugged up assailant, multiple assailants, assailant w/ body armor, etc.)? no matter what, there is the law of diminishing returns that comes into effect. how about that story of a man and his family and friends that got attacked by over 50 gang members? what are you going to carry daily even in your own backyard to counter that? most agree you need 2 rounds per person, thats over 100 rounds of weight plus the gun. we have to reach a compromise of what we are willing to carry and what we should need. do you want high-capacity or would you rather have half as many rounds of twice the diameter? i cant knock on anybody for carrying anything because its better than leaving it at home in the safe. the best caliber you can carry is the one you have on you when you need it.

i would think the holster would prevent this

yes and from what i have noticed, the ones loaded with the faster-burning powders(advertised as such) are almost always either a medium to light weight bullet. in .45 it would be 200gr or 185gr. or possibly even the 165g. but i believe that is usually used in low recoil versions. but yes with a faster burning powder you can use the heavier bullet without having the excess unburnt powder. however, my personal opinion is to use the heaviest bullet you can with the exception of a 3" barrel or less, then you should use short-barrel specific ammo with the faster burning powder.
-
heavier grains are better utilized in the longer barrels. i would guess that the 180 would be best in a 5" barrel and lower the weight of the bullet for shorter barrels. for example a .45 is best when used as a 230gr. bullet in a 5" barrel (standard 1911 configuration) and compensate for other configurations, 200gr. for 4" barrel, 185gr. for 3" barrel etc. i am not familiar with the weights of factory .40 ammo bullets but normally take the heaviest commercially available bullet for the caliber and put it for the 5" barrel and compensate for the shorter barrels

gun safe modification - it it ok?
nightrunner replied to wileecoyote's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
not sure how many pistols you have or how much you have invested in this modification already or how much you are willing to invest but here is another option. Extra Gun Safe Options : Fire Resistant Safe : SturdySafe.com scroll down towards the bottom, the 5 or 6 gun or the 8 gun pistol rack, from $15-$30 each -
I think something is wrong with my Ruger
nightrunner replied to a topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
just a preliminary observation but it looks like stress markings from sub-standard metal used to make the barrel. maybe a gunsmith will chime in -
ok can understand airsoft maybe for CQB or even anything short range but unless i am mistaken, they dont make airsoft rifles to shoot 2000yards, and that is all this rifle is made for, its for distances that .338lapua isnt capable of.

Best materials for home when disaster strikes?
nightrunner replied to a topic in Survival and Preparedness
be more specific. but i assume you are talking about a stay-in bag in case of hurricane katrina in TN? in that case, i say just keep stocked up on canned or non-perishable foods, a few gllons of water, have a electric generator, about 10-15 gallons of gas on hand at all times, 1 sidearm w/ ammo, 1 HDR (home defense rifle) w/ ammo. -
if you arent going to shoot it, sell it. if you need to sell it for the money for other things thats one thing. on the other hand, if you like the gun just dont want to shoot it for fear of degradig its value, sell it to someone who wants the NRA edition and pocket the extra cash and go buy you a new regular edition mark2.

no i am saying work for your money, dont expect it to be handed to you. i could care less if you have a formal job or not for whatever reason i may be, but no need to try to swindle money out of a company for no reason. might as well go get welfare, food stamps, unemployment, government-paid (subsidized?) housing, and whatever else the government is willing to put in your hand. ya know it used to be that people just took the stuff out and either ate the rest of the box of food or threw it away. end of story. nobody deserves anything unless they work for it. you dont deserve anymore than a new box of cereal, and thats pushing it. hell, its only ONE FOOKING FLAKE! get over it and eat the rest of the box. in moderation
