  1. Marine's Father Ordered To Pay Church's Court Costs - Baltimore News Story - WBAL Baltimore Marine's Father Ordered To Pay Church's Court Costs BALTIMORE -- Lawyers for the father of a Marine who died in Iraq and whose funeral was picketed by anti-gay protesters said a court has ordered him to pay the protesters' appeal costs. Lawyers for Albert Snyder of York, Pa., also said he is struggling to come up with fees associated with filing a brief with the U.S. Supreme Court. Sean Summers, one of Snyder's lawyers, said the decision adds "insult to injury." The two-page decision shed no light on the court's reason for the ruling. The high court agreed earlier this month to consider whether the protesters' message is protected by the First Amendment or limited by the competing privacy and religious rights of the mourners. On Friday, Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit ordered that Snyder pay costs associated with the Fred Phelps' appeal.Phelps is the leader of the Westboro Baptist Church, which conducted protests at Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder's funeral in 2006 in Westminster.
  2. I carry the PT145 (the full width version of the 745) daily and have never had a problem. Alot of people tend to unjustly knock Taurus. As a matter of fact I just sold my G32 because I didn't like to carry it and .357sig was too dang expensive.
  3. mw2 here Gammertag chipperi
  4. I have to spend a week in Nashville in April. The city is going to shack me up in a hotel near the TBI headquarters and giving me a city car and a per diem. so I was wondering what is in the area nearby the TBI. I am going to take my wife with me so she can tour around and shop etc, while I am in classes.
  5. Jeremy is correct... Always use you ssn on the paperwork when you purchase a gun. I use NCIC at work and even the most uncommon name will have mutiple hits and be totally different people. I know there ia an appeal process here in TN but dont know the info on it.
  6. As I posted a while back I got a job as a 911 Dispatcher. I have seen people ask if a LEO knows in advance if you have a permit when you are pulled over. If he just runs the tags the answer is no, it just tells the make, model, color, and who owns it. If he does a check on the driver the answer is yes. When we enter your name into the system it will show us both you license and your HCP pictures and all. We do inform the officer that you have a valid permit.
  7. Admission was 10 per person and I had 1 off coupons from their site so my wife and I was $18. My wife did get the hots for a Ruger LCR .38 she was fondling.
  8. I decided to go and treat myself the Meadowview show yesterday since I found a new job. It was the first show I have attended in 7 years. Man alive I'm lucky not to have a concussion. I moved here from Maryland where you are not allowed to do person to person sales at gun shows so it wasn't much of a problem. Now I love the fact that you can in TN as have sold quite a few. But is a gun show floor the right place? They should have an area set off to the side for personal sales especially long guns. I swear everybody had a loosely slung rifle or shotgun over their shoulder, and every time they bent over to look at a table or suddenly turned around, you were faced with a steel bar flying at your head. It also seemed in an extremely crowded room the best place they could find to discuss the potential sale of their firearm was either in the middle of the isle creating a wicked traffic jam, or right in front of a table everybody was trying to look at. Also what does beef jerky, magnetic jewelry, glasses and jewelry cleaning, and Nascar collectibles have to do with a gun show?? Ok done venting now I learned not to waste 18 bucks.
  9. Does anyone know is carry is allowed at the show. I am pretty sure the building is not posted.
  10. All started in October. 1st was an orientation 36 were there. 2nd was a panel interview with HR, director of communications, day communications supervisor, training supervisor, and the Major in charge of communications. 3rd was an extensive background check 4th was an interview with the chief of police. It is full time with I think 650hrs training in the first 6 months and a 1 year probationary period.
  11. In 2009 I was laid off for 24 weeks and the rest of the time I only averaged 8 to 20 hrs a week... Someone asked, the job was for the City of Bristol TN
  12. YES I AM SCREAMING... HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A 350LB GUY DANCE LIKE A BALLERINA?? I JUST GOT THE CALL, THE JOB I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET SINCE OCTOBER JUST CALLED AND OUT OF 36 APPLICANTS I WAS THE ONE PICKED. I WILL SOON BE A 911 DISPATCHER!!! Now if I wouldn't have alread promised to sell all of my reloading equipment for living money... Oh well I will have to buy bigger and better later. :hyper::rock::rock::x::x::clap::clap:
  13. I know lead in a glock is a big no no due to their weird rifling. But just out of curiosity can you use plated bullets? I would assume plated bullets are still fairly soft compared to jacketed, but I'm not sure, I have never used them in any of my guns.
  14. Had a Gen I G17 for years and loved it. I sold it to buy my current carry gun.
  15. I had 3 45acp's and I saw this beauty on a local classifieds site. So I did a trade. I traded my S&W4516 for this new never fired G32. I have never owned a .357Sig. And from what I understand I can drop a 23 barrel in and shoot .40s
  16. Yep I'm a nerd... Got my Technicians class, I have the General class study guide ordered.
  17. As I stated in a thread a few weeks back I was looking into getting into Amateur Radio. Well after a week the FCC finally processed my application. Therefore I will no longer be known as Chipperi ... I am now KJ4QCV now all I need is money to buy a nice transciever.
  18. Let see so far this year their "Vice Unit" was caught spying on ex wives, a cop seized a couple grand from illegals and never turned it in and let the illegals go, and a handful of other events that made the news. Now my wife and I go to dinner at Zaxby's yesterday the parking lot is packed I drive a Full size pickup and am getting tired of driving in circles trying to find a spot. Low and Behold what do I see.....
  19. Nope not properly. They do have some of those pedesal signs in the mall that has "no weapons of any kind including knives firearms etc" but it is in fine brint burried in the rules. I carry there all the time.
  20. I went to the Ham Fest in Gray yesterday just looking at pricing and to learn a thing or two... it looks neat.
  21. I am applying for a job in a near by city as a 911 dispatcher. The background check portion of the app asks if i have a HCP and why....does this really belong on a job app? Thoughts?
  22. Well not really. I have been studying for my Amateur Radio Technition class license just for something to do while laid off. Some of this stuff if more expensive than guns!
  23. Sounds like you are talking about a ladder belt like we used to use in the FD. We would clip to the top rung and lean back so we could use our hands freely... look online for Fire Dept supply places. It's just a wide belt with a large round carabiner to clip on to large rungs.
  24. I was researching TNs Castle Doctrine and found this under Defenses Ok now if you look up the laws pertaining to HCP and self defense you get this Seems to me the old 1989 law needs updating. One says we can be sued the other says we can't
  25. I play Call to Duty World at War all the time....Gammertag chipperi
