  1. Cheers! Once this kind of public precedent is set...who is next? DHS is gearing up to find terrorists behind every door. I agree that the trust placed on this government is amazingly unfounded. Misplaced trust is a very dangerous thing.
  2. I agree with what Ron Paul said about this. He agreed that this guy probably wasnt the best of people, but he was a US citizen. Regardless of what he allegedly had done, he was protected by the 5th Amendment. No American citizen should be executed without due process. Despite what is going on over in the middle east, this country is NOT at war, so using that as a reason does not hold water. Yes the media loves to call it a war but with out proper declaration by Congress, there is no war. If this is allowed to be a beginning, where does it end. read up on the growth of Nazi Germany and tell me if you dont see history repeating itself in regards to the government establishment acting with no regard for the rule of law.
  3. If this were a "Hate Crime" the book and the rest of the library would have been thrown at these two animals. But since it was "JUST an autistic child a lesser sentence was warranted. Our society has become so convoluted and desensitized. This incident and the many that are taking place as I type is living proof. Im with the rest of you. If a dog bites someone it is usually put down because its an animal....fill in the rest as you please.
  4. Ill some it up as I see. The same corporate giants that own this country own the media. What the banking elite want they get from the media organizations that they own. I do not for a second think that any of them are concerned about regulations etc. This country on a much grander scale is still owned by the "Barons" that had control almost from the start. Croney Capitalism has been around for years. Heck where do we think lobbyists came from. Its all about the Benjamins these days. Ron Paul threatens that system so they dont give him the time of day.
  5. That is exactly how it is supposed to play out. Walmart pretty much owns its niche in the retail market. With their buying power, it would be easy to under cut the competition. Then once they dominate the market..they stop selling guns again.
  6. I thought the same about having the "leek" version but like the "chive" it is legal to carry. Great knives for the money.
  7. The extra $100 is for the advantage of higher capacity magazines..
  8. You can run it with or without the decapping pin. So you can actually size, decap and trim all at once. I follow up with an inside chamfer and voila..load them up.
  9. My FNP 45 spits out anything that I feed it. I am not a BIG man and do not have BIG hands but I shoot it very well and it is comfortable to me. It is slightly larger than a full sized Glock of the same caliber in my opinion. I have no experience with the M&P, but I am sure it is a fine weapon. If it is for home defense and size is not an issue, they are both reliable weapons, go out and handle both of them before you decide.
  10. I have been using a Dillon 1200b case trimmer for awhile and I love it. I have only used it on .223 but it works very well. It trims while sizing the case and leaves a very clean edge. I go back and give the cases an inside only chamfer and they are then ready to load. The Giraud trims and chamfers but doesn't size so the amount of time spent working the cases is relatively the same. The Dillon goes for around $300 dollars if memory serves me. Whatever you get will be an improvement over the Lee trimmer. I have one it was my first case trimmer.
  11. I have been using Titegroup for my handgun reloads for a few years now. I load .38spl, .357mag, .40sw and .45acp. Its clean burning, meters very well and goes a long way. Very economical to reload with. Just make sure your measure is on. This is not always a case filler so visual checking is harder. I use a hornady powder checker with my setup and I still check a round at least every 20 rounds. I love it.
  12. Id say good shoot based on the given information. Anyone that has practiced the 21ft drill against an adversary carrying a knife can tell you that there is not a lot of time to present your weapon from holster and it takes very little time to cover that distance when charging.
  13. Scout, scout, scout...and scout some more. You can never do enough research on movement patterns, feeding areas and bedding areas. Any hunt that I have been on started a few months before opening day. These fellas have it right..lol. Go were the deer are. Preparation is more than half the battle when hunting.
  14. Welcome and all of the above mentioned. I have only been to the Cleveland and Prentice Cooper ranges and I enjoyed both of them. The range in Cleveland requires membership unless you are an invited quest.
  15. Yes to Ocean travelling moonbeams.
  16. I understand that misunderstanding happen. That being said, it is not very hard generally to see the physical characteristics of someone who has downs. I have personal experience with this having has a family member stricken with downs. I also can place myself in the officers shoes having been in LE for just over 12 years. I have worked special Olympics events as security and as a supporter. Maybe there needs to be some training involved to help Officers with recognition. This didnt seem to be a violent call, it was stopping a man walking down the street. Seems to me that there should have been plenty of time to make an assessment of the situation before things went wrong. Its is a tough call but it is just my opinion that an officer paying attention could have recognized that he or she was dealing with am individual with downs. The fact that this actually became a physical encounter that involved any striking whatsoever amazes me. I will say that if I smacked someone on the street and they were injured, I would be facing charges. I would never be able to use the "I made a bad judgement" excuse. I dont think anyone in either a working or non working environment should walk away unscathed for doing physical violence on someone. As I said before, there should be more reports made for ALL of the good things that men and women of LE do each day especially for putting up with the general BS that comes with the job. I have seen folks get fired from way less stress intensive job positions for making a bad call.
  17. Police officers are just like any other human beings..you get the bad with the good ones. What amazes me on many stories like this one is that the officers in question usually had past history of such behavior while on the force. Its a bad situation all around. I feel bad for those Officers out on the streets exercising good judgement having there image tarnished by a few buffoons. My brother has been a Deputy in Maricopa County AZ for 17 years and he has no tolerance for fellow Deputies that develop the "God Syndrome" that at times comes with wearing a badge. For those Officers out there doing it right, Thank YOU! I wish someone would take the time to make a story about some of the great stuff done instead of focusing on the bad.
  18. In my experience, whenever I felt that I may have made an error with any of my reloads, I pulled them and started the whole process again. That doesn't happen often, but I always error on the side of caution and safety. I haven't had a box of bullets marked with the wrong data, but I can see it happening. At least you caught it and had the sense to go with whatever your gut was telling you.
  19. I use the lee pro measure and have adapted the disk system from there cc recommendation to that which actually drops the required powder charge by weight. I also ran into the same issue of the weight in grains being less than what they were supposed to be. Going up one or two disk sizes takes care of that. I run ten loads through on initial setup to dial in my weights and then check every 10-12 loads after that to make sure the drop stays accurate.
  20. Great Job Dad! My daughter was a usual partner of mine when going to the range when she was about the same age. She loved it and developed a healthy understanding and respect for firearms because of it.
  21. I use walnut media and when it seems to be getting dirty and taking longer to clean to the level that I like. Instead of throwing it out, I take a piece of old 300 thread count sheet, pour the contents of my tumbler onto it, make a closed pouch of it while twisting and tying it off with a small piece cord to close it up. Then I stick the media, wrapped and tied off in the sheet into the washing machine on its lowest load setting. I use about a teaspoon of washing detergent and run it through a cycle. The media comes out very clean, then rinse and repeat. I am still working with approximately the same batch of media that I purchased 7 years ago. The dryer sheet works like a charm also. I take the ones that have gone through a cycle of drying instead of throwing them away and use them. I can have that tumbler running inside the house and still not have dust and other particulates floating all over the place. I use two sheets per tumble which is not expensive at all because I recycle them.
  22. I have run cable most of my internet days but Fiber Optics has been amazing..you will love it.
  23. Anyone use EPBFI? I have there fiber optic service and the speed test usually indicates my upload and download speeds at approximately 29mbs +/- 1mbs. I cant get it to paste into this thread.
