Well Dave, it's like a new truck with its first parking lot ding ... it hurts ... a dozen dings later ... meh. If you like the rifle, wear it out. Don't make it a safe queen for the next person when you could be shooting, scratching, hauling it around and chasing pigs for memories down the road. I've always looked at rifle scratches as "adventure grooves." This model 94 was perfect ... 50+ years ago. Now the bluing is pretty much gone and scratches galore. It's been on a lot of hunts and dragged around on four wheelers and in pick-up trucks. To me, it's got a lot of character.

I wasn't aware of that issue with the American, but I'll keep my eye out now. I have one in .300 Blackout. I've put a 100+ through it thus far without an issue but the metal upgrade replacement sounds like the route I would take if it ever happens to mine. I always prefer metal over plastic when it comes to guns and motorcycles. Sadly, both industries have gone plastic on many components, obviously to keep cost down to both sides ... the consumer and the manufacturer.

I bought this one new. It's very accurate. Took 3 deer just to field test it. All three with iron sights. That was in 2006. These old eyes don't work well on irons anymore. Why I bought the scope rings. But I've got enough scoped rifles already. This beauty shines with irons, and the check weld is perfect with that European drop angle on the butt.

Hard to find discontinued CZ 550 FS 6.5x55 Swede. Very nice Mannlicher stock. Has set trigger and includes pair of factory rings for 30mm scope. Comes with 30 rounds of ammo. African plains game anyone? SOLD
